Don't apologize for getting emotional about something that means a lot to you. I would cry with happiness if my family finally called me by my preferred name after going by it from almost ten years. I only ever hear my birth name at home, and there's this weird feeling that comes with being called something that just doesn't feel like you. You have every right to be emotional about something that's so intertwined with who you are! I hope one day I'll be that lucky.

I am in so much pain I been waiting for so long to change my name! I hate my name so much it mentally destroyed me! My parents didn't name me, my dad aloud his sister to name me when I was born! never thought in my life it will hurt me this bad! because I was teased by school kids! I am going to do it! I dont care how long it takes.

What state did you do this in? Did you not have to get two affidavits of good character? I’m changing my name in North Carolina

Interesting. By default, it is not possible to change the first name. But in the USA, everything is possible :)))

Wow cool story yeah im not happy bc i still have my damn dads lastname he passed away 15 yrs ago im still stuck with his name all from i was born raised all in school the wrost part is all my 3 brothers all have my moms lastname and not me so all my brothers have kids and all these names are my moms lastname

Im 38 and i still dont got my moms name so i used my moms lastname on all my social media
