I set all this up to play music through the mic but now I can’t use my mic normally anymore

After spending hours of time trying to figure out what was going wrong, I stumbled upon a post (which I am not able to find again) that provided the final solution.
I am posting this comment here because in the process of finding a solution I ended up on this video several times.

The flow:
GUITAR/Mic to Audio interface to my DAW(Ableton) to VST Plugin restream Audio to OBS (Audio input capture) then to Virtual Audio Cabel (Output monitoring) to chrome browser or any other app where you want to stream your audio finally

I could see audio signals at each level even in the control panel input of Virtual cable but still no audio was getting recorded/streamed on chrome/other apps.
The solution was to change the Sample rate to 7168 in Virtual Audio cable control panel and then reboot the pc

This is actually a great way to do this! However, I still use Voicemeeter to have granular control across the board for all my audio devices. I use my sound meters outside of OBS too. Buy yes, this is an absolutely great way of doing this!

wait just a quick question, how do u get to the recording tab because when i tried to connect my virtual cable, i couldnt hear anything could u please help on how to get the recording tab ??

With these settings, (with the free version) will people listening to me be able to hear the filters I've put on my voice in OBS?

hi. I got a problem: i installed the vb audio cable drivers and i was really happy but now i noticed that my main speakers (headphone) are SO low volume even when i not use the vb please help! (and by the way i turned the headphones volume to max yet)

im on windows 11 no tutorials ever work and whenever I search windows 11 there are no results
