I remember back in the seventies all the older guys would trick out their cars, this is the sound you'd hear all day long especially on weekends, Chargers, Roadrunners, GTOs, Chevelle, TransAms, it was great to be a kid back then.

The sound of an old school hemi always brings a smile to my face 😊

The world would be a happier place if all engines sounded this way.

My Vietnam veteran Pops treated himself (and me too) to a brand new 1971 Dodge Charger. (Sadly the brakes were faulty). To my young ears that beast growled just like the one in this video. Thanks for the memories!

Ahhh. High-lift cams. The engine sounds like a 9-cylinder radial at idle. Lovely and un-even. Music to my ears. THX.

Finally a beautiful muscle car without the horrible low profile tires.

I was working for Chrysler when this beauty was made. The old hemis were raw power.

That is not just a car, it is an amazing work of art!

My alarm clock in high school was the neighbor's GTX starting up each morning, 440 with a 6 pack.

I'm so grateful my dad for the last 17 years has raised me on knowledge of cars and motorcycles, and has taken me to the dragstrip, has helped me work on his mustang, and etc. Really cool to truly appreciate and know the beauty of vehicles.

Beautiful car, styling, visceral impact holds up very well compared to bland vehicles we have today.

The 2nd gen Chargers design is one of the most beautiful of any muscle car ever

As a child that sound to me was a familiar as my Dad's voice ! He owned several classic muscle cars including "The Judge". I was born in the early 70's. I always knew when my Dad was leaving or coming back home.. you could hear that Hemi roaring up the street echoing through the neighborhood, once he had some space he would really "Open up!!" Always knew when he started or was patking those cars... Good memories!!!

My late father had a gold 67 Plymouth GTX with a 426 hemi in his heyday. Showed me the highways up north where they drag raced. He got me into cars and we worked on my first car which was an old Camaro. Good memories hunting the junkyards with him for useful parts on the cheap. I don’t think I ever heard a 426 hemi idle until this video. Thanks for making that happen and reminding me of what a great dad he was.

Back when the average working guy could actually buy a cool car. Nowadays you need a second mortgage

The modern HellCat is faster and puts out over 200 more HP but it will never have the class of the old Hemi cars.

Standing by a Hemi, you not only hear it, but feel it thumping. Awesome
