I graduated from Tech in 1975. A couple of years ago I visited the campus on a personal nostalgia tour and the growth of the campus completely boggled my mind. TEXAS TECH has EVERYTHING any student could ever ask for. Lubbock is the perfect "college town". And Lubbock doesn't have terrible traffic conditions like Dallas, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. If I could go back, I would go to Tech. I can't wait to share this link with a young neighbor who is looking at schools for Fall 2021. It's exciting to see the growth.

GUNS UP!! Texas Tech is underrated because of Lubbocks remoteness geographically. The friendliest folks in Texas and a solid academic school. Very welcoming place for those that are apprehensive about college life away from home for their first time. Lubbock is unique and thats a good thing!!

I think I’m going to accept my offer to Texas tech this upcoming fall and this was a great representation of what to expect thanks!

So, fun fact, the dude who runs adventure park, his parents ran Roll Arena for years and years. The place is almost a historic landmark for those of us who grew up here! Only open for special occasions now days but Miss Polly shaped a lot of lives there.

Welcome to Lubbock, new Raiders! As a recent alum, I hope you all have a great fall semester, even if COVID-19 tries to take away from it. Enjoy it, the four years you get fly by!

I graduated in 1990 and although aesthetically, the campus has changed so much but the "feel" of Tech is still the same and I LOVE that about my school. As far as being a party school, meh. I visited both A&M and Texas a few times while I was at Tech, and they weren't lacking any partying. If you want to party, I think you can find that at any school. We only had 19, 000 students there in my time there and it didn't seem big at all.
The city of Lubbock is very much behind Tech and I loved that a large portion of the student body is from Dallas/Ft Worth or Houston so not many go home for the weekends and it bonds us closer. I love the low humidity compared to N. Texas and other parts of Texas. The people of Lubbock, in general are the nicest Texans in all of Texas. I have lived in all regions but El Paso and Lubbockites are THE best!
Wreck 'em and get your guns up 👆🏻🖤❤👆🏻 for coach Adams and the boys!

cool video and good luck on your journey! I'm going to miss Lubbock, I just graduated this semester.

Also just two random things to check out:
1) the old Reece air force base... its kind of cool walking around and there are some parks and pavilions. I'm pretty sure Tech has some advanced science labs out there too
2) Aloha Grill (if it ever opens back up from covid!!! seriously the best food if your craving some steamed pork buns / pot stickers / bacon fried rice)

I am going to Texas Tech in the fall of 2021 and luckily I will already have 2 years done. I am graduating high school with a class of 45 students. I’m a bit nervous about the class size since I’m used to 40 students.

I personally found a careless attitude amongst the mechanical engineering faculty and TAs. I am from a small farming community 90 miles NE of Lubbock, but now reside in Houston. I can see the rudness and poor manners of the typical Houstonian encroaching on the once beloved friendliness that was once Lubbock. Lubbock, Amarillo, Waco, and Abilene remain the better cities that Texas has to offer. Best of wishes to all, and please aspire to higher morals versus the trends of today's society.

I lived in Lubbock for my whole life, was in a private school, I haven’t started College yet but I plan on going to tech for Art. if you want something fun to do in Lubbock If you Like thrifting, go to Plato’s Closet, they sell really nice cloths for cheep and you can also sell. IF that’s not for you, i suggest going to main event for bowling and just to have a good time. There are several places in Lubbock I haven’t been to in my life but its the best home I’ve ever had. Could we see videos about the dorms because I would like to know the size whenever i go there> that’s for this video, I’m super excited for College because at my current schoool I don’t have many friends so getting a fresh start will be nice!

The dust storms are really bad here the air will be really orange and you won’t be able to see anything, and the fall can get really cold. Once u get used to Lubbock is really lame ash the only really really popular places that me and my hgs go to is altitude, the skating ranch and the mall. But they all ways fight at those places . If u have any questions just ask me 👍🏾
