Great videos, Bob. I learned a lot, but have a question. Why did you rinse the methyl hydrate with the lacquer thinner? Methanol sholdn't leave any residue anyway. Does the laquer thinner protects the surface better, or primes it for the coating, or something like that? Thanks, and keep posting. I like the way you work and think.

Can you use acetone instead of paint lacquer for rinsing the tank after the methyl hydrate wash? I am wondering because I am going to use acetone to dissolve the previous tank liner instead of rocks like you, and if I have any left over I could use it in place of the paint lacquer. Also, I was wondering how many gallons that tank is, 2 or 3 gallons?
