Andy Gibb had it all: Money , Talent, Looks, and most of all, the love of his brothers, The Bee Gees. He never was able to quite able to escape some of the demons that haunted him. The BeeGees musical legacy is unquestionably monumental. They are without a doubt one of the biggest bands of all time. And With HBO’s recent release of their new Bee Gees Documentary “How Do You Mend A Broken Heart”— the quintessential late 70s Rock band seems to be back in the spotlight once again (not like they ever really left). While we can easily recognize the lasting impact the Bee Gees had on rock music, the disco, Andy passed away just a few days past the age of 30—but the impact of his music lasted far longer. If you enjoy this video, be sure to give it a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss our next nostalgic video.

My mother ran the room service department in a major hotel chain and Andy stayed there. He had a concert the next day. Someone from his entourage kept calling down for strawberry milkshakes by the dozen and everyone they'd call mom would laugh and say something sweet. Same voice everything they called mom asked his name and he said "Andy" so mom said omgoodness....my daughter has your record. He was very polite and thanked her saying would your daughter like to come to the show? Mom said i couldn't because she had to work. He said "well let me do something for her" Mom thanked him and said his order would be right up. When the waiter came back down, Andy had autographed a picture for me and said "Lili, wish you could come to the show. Yoir mom is great Love Andy Gibb" I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. I wish he had only known how much joy he brought to people and had the confidence to know he was greatly talented.

He had myocardidis-an inflammation of the tissues surrounding his heart. Brought on by years of drug abuse. I think a lot of it, had to do with the company he had around him. Pam Dawber, one of his best friends, summed it up best: "There's always hangers on, people not really looking out for you. People putting a spoon under his nose, just to say, I did coke with Andy Gibb." The wrong group of people you have in your circle, can really mess a person up.

All four of the Bee Gees had that unique sound to their voice.

I remember Andy, because I used to go to school with him, junior school in Hendon London st, Mary’s. He was a nice looking boy with longer hair than other boys in the school and I remember he had freckles on his face and golden streaks in his hair. His family rented a house near the school, when they came back from Australia, in Hendale Avenue, I forgot the number . It was the same road friends lived in also. I also remember one of my friends fathers was a book maker, and quite wealthy in those days, and he was asked by the Gibbs if he wanted to buy a share in the bee gees, he declined, and years later I was told by his son, it was a decision he always regretted, obviously because they became huge stars. The bee gees have always been one of my favourite groups, I still love their music all these years on . In fact funny enough Barry has an English home near me now, in Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, it’s a house set back from the road with a gate house as well. I have seen him around he has a Rolls Royce he drives around in. But not often ...

His brothers' "Wish You Were Here" was dedicated to their baby brother...a beautiful song they just found to difficult to perform. Such a painful reminder of a loss to this day the only surviving Bee Gee, Barry, still grapples with. The last standing brother Barry goes it alone backed by three pair of Angel's wings pushing him forward... there's simply no other explanation.

I grew up listening to Andy, and my favorite recording of his, is “I Just Want To Be Your Everything.” It never gets old. I’m so sad that he’s not with us anymore, and I also have so much empathy for Barry, having to endure losing all 3 of his brothers. 🙏😢

I'm a long-time Bee Gees fan. I remember Andy's arrival on the music scene and his sad departure. This was a very good review of his life and talent and career.
One thing I'd like to add, every time, no matter how many times, a person enters a rehab centre to conquer addiction is a victory. From what I've learned, it takes most people a few tries to beat it, but each attempt gets them closer to the time when it will be behind them forever and they go on to a healthy happy life.
So, if you know someone who is battling addiction don't be disappointed if they have to go back to rehab a few times. Cheer them on! Like with everything else, success takes practice.

He was my first, and most significant, girlhood crush. So much talent and potential, a life lost way too young. Memories of him still bring tears to my eyes. I hope that Andy has found the peace that he lacked in life. 💕💜
