A couple years ago I made a video showing how the wheels I built with Onyx hubs compared to the stock wheels that came with my Trek Stache.

My kids saw it and wanted to do a follow up; addressing the couple comments people left - that I should have been holding the freewheel to simulate how it would behave during riding conditions. Sorry about the sound - I think my video helper had his hand over the mic...

I haven’t done any maintenance on either set, and it is still an unscientific test (using my kids help, different tires) but still gives you a really good idea of how high end hubs compare to stock.

I threw in a comparison to the wheels that came on my Ibis Ripmo (ibis signature hubs) as well.
