Keep in mind that this is for Lamy pens. Not all fountain pens come with these long cartridges and if they are too short then just placing them in the barrel and screwing it down won't put pressure on the cartridge and it won't puncture. In those cases you have to push the cartridge in by hand instead and then screw on the barrel.

I’m left handed so I fear it’ll smudge, but I’m also learning to write with my right hand! It’s not easy, but it’s working out nicely so far 😅

A good start would be to clean and flush the pen before first use to get any residu out.

There is some blue ink in the feed from when it was tested on the factory, it's not a big deal when you're using black ink but it is a good practice to flush the new pen.

I've wanted a nice fountain pen for a long time. Ultimately I know better lol... The pilot G2 is the best bang for buck pen in my line of work.

Just push the cartridge by hand, it works well because the cartridges can be of varying lengths.

all lamys that i know of are tested with blue ink at the factory so if you’re going to switch colors right out of the box you could give the pen a quick cleaning, or don’t 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mine was a POS. Nib was defective. I tried to tune it, and I got it a bit better but it was garbage. Spent another $16 for a nib. It’s still just ok. Not a pleasant experience. Probably steer clear of Lami and spent money elsewhere. This was the pen that made me decide to quit buying junk pens and move on to ONLY higher end stuff. That means less but better toys.
