Here are a few more:

1. Pick more than one color, and make the desk contrast with your peripherals, PC, etc by making it lighter than most of everything. (Or vice versa, make your desk darker and everything else lighter.

2. Get shelves or other wall decor like hanging plants, diffused light strips to make a design, posters, medals, wall panels, clocks, etc.

3. Personalize it up! It's your setup, do what you like to it. Don't let other people keep you from being you or doing what you want with your setup. If you like anime, awesome. If you like cars, great. Be yourself!

4. Quality wallpapers, hidden desktop apps if you want, a hidden or clear taskbar if you want.

5. Remember you can sacrifice some aesthetics to get what's better for you, like a better chair, and things that can make you more productive.

6. Get a big enough desk

For anyone that's looking to do the Karlby + Alex Drawer youtuber desk hack, don't. It sucks. I've tried it, it sucks. Every damn "tech" youtuber out there has this "desk". It's not a desk you are literally using a kitchen countertop propped up by 2 drawers. You'll need a leg in the middle otherwise the countertop might sag depending on how heavy your stuff is you putting on the middle portion.

The countertop also comes pretty rough on the surface, you'll need to sand it, at least mine did. The bottom of the countertop has this weird texture that isn't really good for sticking anything on, not even 3M tape or gorilla tape can hold stuff on it. So to hide cables under the desk you either need to find whatever cable trays you can and drill into the countertop for best hold. Otherwise good luck with the 3M taped cable channels.

Just a tip the katana should be in the sheath aka the part that hides the blade bc it will last longer and so u don't have to clean it as much

I think everyones first setup is just OTT on RGB and ends up looking obnoxious.

I recently redid mine and now have a black and walnut theme going on with minimal RGB and i much prefer it
