I'm 50/50 on this. Yes, I'm sad about the og cast not coming back and felt like things should've ended there but I just wanna see how D4 turns out. It probably won't bring the sense of nostalgia when i watch the previous movies and I saw no point in continuing the series

Here’s the thing, when I realized Decendants 4 was confirmed, I was mad because I agree with Dove Cameron, because I wouldn’t want to look at the movie without Cameron Boyce there, but then I got a little happy because I realized, Decendants 4- The Rise of Red, is actually classified as a spin-off, spin-off movies are movies that branch off of the original (franchise) meaning this COULD BE the start of a new beginning for Decendants, I’m still mourning the loss of Cameron, but a new movie might make us more happier, and also would remind us of the memory of the most legendary Disney actor of all time.

Thank you cause I've been pissed seeing people griping the ogs weren't returning. Like respect their feelings! They lost not just a cast mate, but a brother. They were FAMILY. To keep his memory alive and honored, making the movies with a brand new cast feels like the best thing to do. Cause they can pay tribute to him in this new film.

I want everyone back.. Except as said well by Bandit in the cartoon Bluey, if we're the dogs, Carlos was the dog that was removed which made everyone disappear. I just hope that maybe possibly in one of the later movies an older adult Mal comes back to like save Auradon or something.

Seeing how they renamed "Descendants 4" to "Descendants: Rise of Red" gives the idea of a setting in the same universe but not a continuation of the current timeline. Then, seeing the trailer, Uma is now the principal of Auradon prep, allowing all people from different kingdoms to join (mainly Wonderland). Red, our main character, is the princess of Wonderland and the queen of hearts, basically just. threatens (and possibly kidnaps?? idk) this nameless blue queen. With that, Red and blue princess go back in time, where queen of hearts wasn't that bitchy to save blue queen.

Personally, I still have mixed feelings about this, since this was one of my first ever fandoms (I was 6-7 when it came out...). Cameron was one of my favorites ever; his passing away made me so sad, but my love for this franchise will always be there. It's an interesting premise, I'll say. And it doesn't look too bad. Although I'm worried about how they'll handle the "go back in time" thing...
