Fear is the experience of non-existence.

To remove fear, you must know you exist.

To you know you exist, you must be aware of what existence is.

To know existence, you must know yourself.

Once you know yourself, know yourself in the face of fear and embrace every single ounce of it.

How great is it that we have this information so easily available to us for free. It really is a blessing, thanks for sharing.

Fear is cause by thinking and clinging to the idea of a permanent, separate self or ego-center. Mindfulness meditation helps us to see that thoughts are just thoughts, only impermanent mental objects. And the self is just a result of social conditioning based on thinking and memory and the use of the "I" label in communication. The Buddha was the first person to have this awakening and insight. Too much thinking creates mental suffering and delusion - worry, obsession, fear, anxiety, craving, frustration, regret and guilt, confusion and despair. Only awareness can free us from this mental delusion and suffering. Awareness, mindfulness is the unconditioned state of mind. There is fear, not I'm afraid. It is impermanent, a temporary mental state. This too shall pass.

It took me decades to realize that I was never afraid of death, only suffering.

It didnt really hit me until I realized that asking "Is there really a guy named Mark?" But rather asked "Is there really a guy named Mark that's suffering?" I think the difference was that suffering and the ego go hand in hand. I was just trying to rid myself of suffering but wasn't really ready to face the truth. After that it was an interesting shift. Very humbling. Really was like swallowing a red pill. The world is real. Not in its appearance but in its essence. The so called personal self is almost like a virus in the way it attaches on. No way of explaining it. It's beyond space and time. Nothing can touch it.

How can we see clearly that our existence/awareness is not dependent on the body?

Parmenides said that non existence is the most absurd idea and can never be spoken of in any coherent manner.

This might surprise you but lots of people find solace in the idea that they are temporary finite beings that will come to an end one day. Some even look forward to it. On the other hand the idea of being absolutely real and eternal will create anxiety and fear in most people, not the opposite like you suggest.

When one experience fear, one sense it. So fear like any other product of reality derived from sense. So reality is sense. The thing is.. As it may look like we experience reality as seperate from it. We actually that reality. So when one sees fear, he is the fear.. See what happens when one realise that.. 🙂

What would you say about someone who says Jesus is real?

Sadly this isn't helpful, because like all awakened guides you're talking in grand abstracts rather than pulling the message down to something tangible for our minds to grasp. I like your videos, but could you please use more practical and personal examples to illustrate your point. For example, how does this video apply to the fear in the form of procrastination, such as the fear of getting on with creative work? This can be such an intense fear as to be similar to the fear of death, but I'm also talking about lesser fears such as say, fear of not accomplishing our potential, or saying the wrong thing, or getting lost, or whatever. Please use more concrete examples when you're trying to explain this, as I've tried to connect with these abstract concepts from numerous guides for 25 years and it's very frustrating. Thanks
