To win in Formula One, you not only need the fastest car, and the fastest driver, but the fastest route to the chequered flag, using the best strategy, given the mandated pit stop in every dry race.

And in the modern era, with all the data available, it’s become an artform. The switch to strategic pit stops came in 1982, from design icon Gordon Murray, then with Bernie Ecclestone’s Brabham team. Watch the video, and tell us what you think in the comments…

Over the top off-site mission control rooms should be banned.
Hardly seems sporting to use rooms of analysts and supercomputers to try to predict race strategies, and It really makes a mockery of F1s so called green initiatives.
