iPad Mini (2024) Review - The Best Small Tablet Stays Predictably Good

Apple doesn't take any big risks with its newest iPad mini because it doesn't have to. A faster A17 Pro chip, Apple Pencil Pro compatibility, and addressing the 'jelly scroll' issue are solid moves. It's still excellent and will serve users who want one well. But they could have done more, 3 years after the last iPad mini was released.

My main wish for the mini is to get faceid. I know some people love touch id but personally find it annoying to have to have to unlock everytime and accuracy is a hit or a miss for me vs my phones that i just need to tap and swipe up.

just when we thought that Apple has reached a milestone in its definition of revealing to us what minimalistic upgrades truly are. The iPad mini takes it to a whole new level…. So they can actually leave us with 60 Hz but give us a pro pencil that does the exact same thing as the mini 6 with the exact same screen and refresh rate, I’m sorry, Apple, where is the upgrade sincerely, the iPhone 13 Pro Max…

Love my current mini but see nothing in new one to make to want to upgrade. Will not buy something for fantom AI features. Currently running beta version of 18.1 and have not seen any missing features that require me to upgrade.

The bezels are just unacceptable, not even 90 hz? No face ID? All this Mini is, is leftover parts in a leftover shell branded as "New". Call it what it is.

The Mini. This is the  product that I will continue to upgrade no matter what. It’s not perfect, need the OLED, slimmer bezels and pro-motion, but man oh man it’s such a great product and leans in to what it is.

Nice video man. Is the jelly scrolling really noticeable on the iPad mini 6 from 2021? Cos I wanna get one.💜 Is it still okay in 2024 and beyond? Never used an iPad before. So would love to know

Love your videos, but I can not agree that this is a solid device upgrade. The bezels are way too big, the outdated display, confusing Apple pencil which one works or doesn't, last generation chip (sure we might not need it but through us a bone), colors are an after thought and look like they want to save money on ink so to speak, same box art, camera not in landscape, Ai still not even out, no keyboard case, the new case does not even have the right size camera slot and I can go on and on. But they did give us a brick I'll give them that. Their last two events have been lack luster. At this point I think Leap Frog might catch up.
