iPad Mini 2024 Review

The new iPad mini is a great little portable sketchbook. They didn't change much but the spec bump with apple pencil pro support are great additions to an already nice little tablet.

Glad they didnt do big updates so i dont feel sad for having previous gen, maybe next model will have something big like oled screen or m series SoC

I bought an iPad Pro M1 when it came out. I never used it for anything more than watching YouTube videos and doing regular stuff I also do on my phone and eventually sold it. It was just way too big for what I used it for. Now, sometime I want some more screen real estate to do regular daily things I do on my phone so I have been highly considering a mini for the last year. Might pull the trigger on this... would've been nice to get 120hz but tbh it's not that serious to me even tho I have a promotion 16 pro max and MacBook Pro. It just seems like the perfect in-between from my phone and MacBook when I want more screen but dont want to lug around my MacBook!

The only gripe I have with the mini or any non pro ipad in general is the lack of higher refresh rate. 60hz on a tablet size screen just feels extremely slow no matter how well you optimize it.. I have always felt that whenever I tried an iPad air as well. Android tablets are far better in this regard as they have a minimum of 90hz display which makes it extremely smooth

I do see that it is more than enough for art, and has some improvements over the iPad Mini 6 for artists. But if it's an easy recommendation for people buying their first iPad, is it really worth spending on if you already have a Mini 6 and an older Pencil? I think you might already have a video planned for this question but if you don't, I'm telling you you need to make one too!

they don’t add oled, face id or 120 h it’s because they don’t want to make it too pro to force you to get the pro instead

Hey Brad great video, great to see you dive a bit into gaming performance reviews. I know this is an art channel (please dont ever change that) but it can be fun to sort of tinker with other little things since the tech your reviewing can def be used for more than just art. And some people may like to see those additional features if they also are doing more than just art with their device.
