iPad Mini 7 - We NEED to talk...

The iPad Mini 7 just dropped, after years of anticipation. Is the iPad Mini 7 worth it? What are the new features on the new iPad Mini 7 and how does it compare, iPad Mini 6 vs iPad Mini 7? Should you upgrade to the iPad Mini 7?

I think it's a fairly lazy upgrade. I really hope whoever replaces cook is a product person and makes really cool stuff again.

There’s not enough to justify the jump from the mini 6 to 7 for me. I would’ve done it for 120hz but alas, Apple caught slacking again.

I like when Apple does this because it saves me money. I will sit this one out

I have no complaints about changes to iPad Mini 7, just no need to upgrade from 6. It's all the tablet I could want or need. 😊

For people who have a Mini 5 or earlier it is worth upgrading . But for me, I have the 256 gig Mini 6 there is not enough of a upgrade to pay $600 and then shell out $130 for the Pro Pen.. I think it’s tacky that the new Mini 7 is not compatible with the previous pen. For such minimal upgrades we should have had the option to use our Apple pencil 2.

As a pilot, I’ve been waiting for this update and it’s an absolute joke. I was really hoping to see a brighter display and 120hz screen to allow for better performance in the cockpit. The chip upgrade is meh and will only load maps slightly faster. Really wanted at least A18 Pro or M1 chip to get really snappy map movement. Now I have a conundrum as to whether I should just buy the 6 for cheaper or just accept the incremental upgrade and get the 7.

Only thing I was looking for was 120hz realistically. My dream would’ve also had oled and Face ID

If I didn’t have to upgrade my pencil, I’d consider upgrading my mini 6

Cool, they added old hardware they had and say its so great. They added NOTHING people actually wanted. I cant defend Apple this time.

Ordered it immediately! Do I wish it had a faster refresh screen? Sure! Who wouldn't, but I've also been waiting for apple to release a new chipset for this form-factor so I could pick up something that would last a few years and this seems like it! Can't wait to finally pickup a Mini!

It's sort of a lackluster update, but it will likely sell well enough for Apple to justify it. It would have been nice to see A18, wireless charging, and a 120Hz display.

It was an expected type of upgrade so no complaints for me. The A17 Pro and 8GB of RAM will be solid performance bump for gaming. Planning to trade in my 5G 256GB 6th Gen to this with the same specs. It’ll be great companion to my 13inch M4 iPad Pro

Not sure why everyone is crying, I’ll take this upgrade any day! I’m also coming from a mini 5 😂……..ordered.

I use it for internet surfing, some games, email, watching YouTube…so this update is fine for me. It’s already a great product and now has a better chip and more memory. It gets tiresome listening to people nitpick and bitch.

I think many people are viewing this upgrade the wrong way. It's a stellar choice for anyone with an older iPad, like the iPad 6, 7, or iPad mini 3 or 4, who’s ready to upgrade. Personally, I’m still using an iPad Mini 5, so this upgrade wouldn’t be worth it for me. Those who upgrade annually or even every two years are missing the point—Apple products are built for longevity. You really don't need to upgrade your Apple products until it stops receiving OS version updates.

I just bought the IPad Mini 6. Love it more then imagined. If there would be a nanoscreen, that would be a reason for me to upgrade. Now I can do everything I want.

M4 OLED 120hz would complete this device. We could call it a Mini Pro.

This will draw laughter, but I watched this on my 2019-era iPad Mini 5 which is still my daily driver for true tablet tasks. 60 hz display has never bothered me. I struggle to see the difference in smoothness compared to 120 hz. I agree that 256 GB is the sweet spot, which is what I have. Would I love to have the latest Mini? Sure, but I just haven’t been able to justify replacing this solid workhorse yet.

Thanks for the preview Patrick. I won't be upgrading from my base Mini 6, it's still meeting all of my needs in a small tablet (and I use it daily). Naturally I would like to have all of the new features, but my plan is to wait until the battery won't hold a charge anymore.
