Children of war: Ukraine’s families torn apart by Russia’s invasion

Since Russia invaded Ukraine, hundreds of children have been killed, hundreds more have been injured, and millions have fled.

Ukraine's children have suffered immeasurably since Vladimir Putin’s forces started the conflict, more than 100 days ago.

For those families who have stayed, the children live with the reality of war every day, under constant threat from Russian bombing.

We spoke to children who live in the Donbas area about what their lives are like - living on the front line.

Apparently letting the children investigate exploded ordinance to get that all important footage was more important than stopping them potentially harming themselves. The juxtaposition of Paraic sitting there in his army helmet & bullet proof vest whilst speaking with Sasha in her shorts & tshirt definitely wasn’t lost on me.

I Hope God keeps all of the children, families and parents close to one another 🙏 ❤️, safe and under his guiding light at all times. Hard to see this. I'm so sick of seeing things like this or knowing it's a reality in this existence. Earth is not a place I'm going to miss on one hand when I'm gone.

I really hope that Shazza, her brothers, parents and all of her neighbours survive to come back to the place they call home.
I would like every person to have a close look at the standard and size of the average home that the village people live in. The average Middles Eastern and Ukrainian home would be just two to three rooms, where the people cook, relax and sleep.
The spacious luxury of our homes just does not compare to the minimal average Ukrainian and Eastern home. To every family that has a home they call their own, it does not matter about the size or amenities you have, its still home.
