Ukrainian children surviving war with Russia without their parents - BBC News

Millions of Ukraine’s children have fled their homes since Russia invaded their country.

The United Nations children's agency UNICEF estimates two thirds of the country's children are now displaced.

For some, it’s an even harder journey, because they don’t have their parents with them.

One children’s home on the eastern frontline in the city of Luhansk had to relocate hundreds of miles across the country to the western city of Lviv.

Over 5 million children moved. We cannot imagine breaking one child's heart, let alone 5 million whose hearts are broken by Putin. For anyone who is taking Putin's side, remember war too is child abuse. I wish all children can be reunited with their loving families as soon as possible.

Having 7 kids myself ages 4years-21years old and seeing this is beyond heartbreaking especially knowing there is nothing I can do to help them!!

This Young man seems very traumatised by the war. He has no sleep, and so the staff. What can we do, to protect all these vulnerable children ? I will pray for them in my rosary.

I adore one boy. When there was a shelling of civilians in Donetsk a few weeks ago, he pulled his grandmother out from under bullets! In the report, he tells how he did it. "We were in the bank and there was an explosion...It was fast as always. And I pushed Grandma and she fell on her stomach in front of me. I knew that every second was precious. If you didn't make it, then you're dead." Then we crawled forward to the guard, and he protected us all." This boy's name is Nikita) When he was crawling with his grandmother, he injured his leg. He lay in a cast, and again with his grandmother). Not sad. He is a child of the Donetsk war. Thank you all for your attention.

This, all of this, truly feels like a 21st century mirror to what we went through in Britain in WW2. It hurt us to our core, even though it made us stronger. We cannot allow these scares to get even deeper than they already are now in another generation. It is all of our responsibility now to make sure that she and everyone else on this beautiful country and able to return to their homes as soon as possible, and help in the rebuilding. Breaking my heart in pieces, I had been in her shoe when I was 8 years old . So I understand the pains she's gone through right now.
With God willing UKRAINIANS will prevail this evils war from Putin the monster with out a soul or heart.
I praying to God all the children's family's members are ok, when this war end she be able to united with her family's. It just so much hurting and pains cause by one and only one devil from hell with he propaganda (Putin).
