Will this laminate drywall to plaster?

A lot of the houses I work on are row homes (Philly, 1910's-1920's) all of the walls connecting the houses are plaster directly on brick.

Normally what we do is attach strapping with Ramset nails or Tapcon screws, but this would be faster
