This is good at the time of install but a bit of a nightmare for the next demo. So keep that in mind if you're staying there long term. Personally I'll fix the nail pops if there are any.

Great video, I love using liquid nails. I've also used it to install Wayne's coating.

Thank you for great video, only concern I noticed, you are not hitting drywall at same angle so I could not be sure how much it is reducing noise

Good information in general, and a great test for air infiltration.

that's if you are assuming that the drywall will be directly installed on studs, but is you live in cold climate where a plastic vapour barrier is required by code, then you cannot use glue because it will not stick, on top of that if you use glue then you better not think about remodeling...

Thanks Ron-I will incorporate this method the next time I do any drywall job.

He forgot about the added raking strength that is adds to the to house, especially if it done to the sheathing too. Its rarely done do the added cost for materials and labor ie time to apply it. And code usually required the same about of screws or nails to be used with or without adhesive.
But the air sealing test was joke since the edges of the drywall is not exposed in a house. So it will help seal a house but will not be as dramatic of a difference in a house.

Liquid nails is Great when applying sheetrock on wood panels. That say if you ever need to remodel or fixing it's easier to remove. When coming off it will be stuck to the panels and not the framing.

He's not saying this speeds up application of drywall...this application is more for the DIYer. Even though your drywall is properly muddled and taped doesn't provide an air tight seal through to the attic or seal from one room to the next. This would help seal from one stud channel to the next. Personally I prefer using acoustical sealant made by Tremco for sealing air gaps.

I've done my share of remodeling and if I had ever run into glued sheetrock I would have screamed at the Gods, lit my hair on fire and my head would have spun like a top.

This stuff is horrible when it comes to remodeling. It is such a pain in the ass to try to reuse the wood.

This is exactly the reason you should ALWAYS skim plasterboard (drywall) with a finishing plaster. Don't cut corners!
