To work with one hand and your camera in the other is a feat within itself. Great video!

Thank you; you saved my life. I recently moved to the United States from Chile. I always made the electrical connections in my house, but I don't know the ones in this country. I had the red cable connected as negative, hahaha, thanks

Thank you for this tutorial. You are only one I found that answered my question as to what to do with the RED wire. I was wondering if you ended up changing your light/fan switch too since you don’t need two now?

The toughest part of this project is changing out the fan wall switch with a light only switch. You should show this process also. Thanks

Yeah it's a good solution if you are moving out and want to take a fan with you to your new place. Buyers don't really focus on if rooms have ceiling fans or not, and may just replace the fixtures anyways.

My ceiling fan has a three way switch for lighting and a separate switch to control the fan. I'm Replacing it with a new light fixture and I want to repurpose the fan switch to control my new bar lights. Would it be appropriate to run new 14 2 wires to replace the existing 14 3 wires that powered the ceiling fan, or simply cap off the red wire in the ceiling fan junction box and run a new 14 2 line from the switch to the bar lights?

Thank you. This helped me out big time with the Red, black and white wires. I had two switches

I’m surprised there aren’t any other videos that I’ve seen about replacing a ceiling fan with a light because I have a small ceiling fan that is very dangerously mounted so I’m trying to replace it with a light

I need help I wanna replace my ceiling fan light to turn to a regular light fixture. The problem is there's five wires. 1Ground connected to ground 2black connected to black, 3white, chest l connect to white 4rope looking wire connect to type rope wire then 5 another rope looking wire but connected to DR blue wire.

What wire controls the switch and what color do I connect it to black or white?? I'm so confused I need help

I replace my ceiling fan with a light fixture but for some reason when i turn the switch to off the light won't turn off all the way and looks like it's in dim mode. Anyone experienced this?

Which wires coming to the switch ? Mine are black and red. I capped off the red at the ceiling, the light on all the time.

I had to connect the red from the ceiling to the black from the light fixture. Then i had to cap my black wire from the ceiling. When i attached black to black, the light just stayed on, and the switch wouldn't turn it off, so i knew that was the fan part. Hope this helps someone
