How to Replace a PLASTER Ceiling with DRYWALL DIY!

In this video I rip down the old plaster ceiling in my 100 year old house. I leave the lath up and just screw the new drywall sheets into it. Then I plaster it all up nice and smooth, then paint it. I detail how I did it all by myself, and what you need to do it yourself too DIY style. I believe it all cost me around $500. Importantly, always check for hazardous material like asbestos, and wear proper protection, like a particle mask. Keep in mind that I'm not a professional in any stretch of the imagination. Great vid. You can use backer rod in the gaps between the walls and ceiling to cut down on how much mud you have to use there. Cuts drying time too.
