Mufassa: “Everything the light touches is our kingdom.”

Simpa: “What about that shadowy place?”

Mufassa: “That's the live action remake. You must never go there, son.”

The friendship between Genie and Aladdin spanned 3 whole movies AND a tv show that was pretty good, for a kids show.

Could you please explain the messed-up origins of “Romeo & Juliet” and “West Side Story” in a future video?

I love this so much. I've always been a fan of the Grimms versions of fairy tales. I wish Disney had done those as their live action remakes instead of ruining our childhoods with what they've given us.

Once you realize how perverse Disney is, it all begins to make sense

I can't wait for Jon to do Robin Hood and Sword in the Stone! They are my two favorite Disney movies!

I'd like to see a version of Cinderella where Lady Tremaine is punished for her crimes. I think it's high time for a vengeful Cinderella. Once Prince Charming ascends to the throne and Cinderella becomes queen, she has Lady Tremaine arrested for crimes across the Crown and sentences her to life in the tower.

I remember the Frollo scene all too well. The theater became deadly quiet as all the adults tried to sink into their seats, myself included. My son told me later he thought it was boring, but noticed the silence. Rewatching the movie as an adult, my son was horrified. "I get why it became so quiet now".

@JonSolo, you should check out Osamu Tezuka's 1950s manga adaptations of Pinocchio and Bambi. They're a weird hybrid of the Disney version and the source material. So you'll have the cricket being named Jiminy and he survives the entire book, the scene where Jiminy accidentally leans on a toy of a woman and then gets embarrassed and apologies, and Figaro and Cleo are present (although Figaro now wears pants for some reason). But the scene where Pinocchio is hanged from a tree and the scene where the fish eat away Pinocchio's donkey body to reveal the puppet inside are in there, too.

Tezuka's Bambi adaptation also has a bunch of stuff that wasn't in the movie, like Bambi and Thumper messing around with stuff in a hunter's cabin. I don't know if this is from the original book, though.

That background music has serious "Total Eclipse of the Heart" vibes. I was fighting the urge to sing "Turn around...!" :)

I wish someone would do "The White Cat" as a classically-animated 2D film without softening its brutal parts, but I can't imagine that happening. Disney sure isn't the company to do it. Ironically, it has one of the happiest endings of any fairy tale I've read (there are no true villains and everybody wins), although it goes over some rough ground getting there.

JM Barrie left the rights to the Peter Pan story, in perpetuity, to Great Ormond St. Children's Hospital in London. What a nice man.
