A storm brought record-breaking rainfall to the Los Angeles area on Tuesday, and possible tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.

A video shared by Twitter user @njtehcherchian shows a possible tornado in Montebello, just southeast of Los Angeles, with debris swirling in a funnel.

The National Weather Service said Wednesday its survey teams would assess damage caused by possible tornadoes in Montebello and Carpinteria.

Montebello remained under a flood watch until 5 p.m. Wednesday, the agency said.

Daily rainfall records were broken at four airports in the region Tuesday, the agency said. Downtown Los Angeles broke a record set 130 years ago, in 1893, with 1.43 inches of rain.
