I'd send this to my gf, but the equation is slightly different for an MD/PhD student. 1) Much lower debt. 2) A few years longer to get that sweet attending salary. 3) Earnings are slashed for the sake of research. 4) PhD years are a bit more flexible than MD years, but just as busy.

Sadly, I knew a junior/community college professor who waa pre-med dating another pre-med. She agreed to put him through medical school and then he agreed to put her through medical school. Unfortunately, he dumped her when he became a doctor and she ended up with his debt and couldn't become a doctor. End of the story - be responsible for your own medical education and the paying for it!
