In your way of solving, you supposed that solutions are integers. For me, it's more natural to do: (y+1)=24/(x+1) and (z+1)=48/(x+1) and so with the third equation you obtain (x+1)^2 = 36. So x = 5; y = 3 and z = 7 or x= - 7; y = -5 and z = -9.
