2-Minute 3-Ingredient Brownies
Показать описание
Do you keep seeing 3-ingredient “healthy” brownie recipes, and wonder if they’re any good? They sound/look easy enough, and pretty simple/healthy ingredients, but with no added sugar/sweetener, how do they taste? Are they sweet enough, or are they bitter? Let’s test two recipes against each other and find out once and for all!
RECIPE 1: Banana+cocao+almond butter. It’s paleo, whole 30 and vegan.
🍌1 ripe banana, mashed
🍫2 tbsp cocoa powder
🥜2 tbsp almond butter
Combine, and bake in a small oven-safe dish for 20 minutes at 350F.
You can easily scale this up to use 3 bananas, and fit in an 8x8 baking dish (cut into 9 square brownies).
RECIPE 2: Banana+cocao+egg. It’s also paleo and whole 30, but not vegan.
🍌1 ripe banana, mashed
🍫2 tbsp cocoa powder
🥚1 egg
Optional: 1 tsp baking powder, chocolate chips, sweetener - I only added the baking powder to keep it fair & accurately compare with equal sweetness levels.
1. Combine, and bake in a small oven-safe dish for 20 minutes at 350F.
2. You could also scale this up to use 3 bananas, but I would put it in a 9x9 or something a bit larger as our 1x batch overflowed our bowl in the oven.
3. Want them even faster? I haven’t tried this myself, BUT saw someone microwave this one for about 2-2.5 minutes (everyone’s microwave strength varies so keep an eye on it!)
I baked them both in the same sized bowl for the same amount of time. Recipe 2 rose and bubbled over the side of the bowl, and came out puffed up, but sank (to the same size as recipe 1) upon cooling. Luckily I had a baking sheet under the bowl or it would have made a big mess of the oven.
📊RESULTS:
Taste & texture-wise I definitely prefer the almond butter version. Though it was still quite banana-y. I would probably increase the cocao & almond butter to 3 tbsp next time I make it.
The egg version was wet, and very squishy texture, and very banana-y. **LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE TRIED THIS RECIPE WITH BETTER SUCCESS** (did you bake it different? Or slightly different ingredient amounts?)
PS. This is the caramel sauce and ice cream I added:
