Nasa launches James Webb telescope into space in historic lift off

Nasa has successfully launched the James Webb Space Telescope into orbit, giving scientists the opportunity to peer back further into the universe’s history than ever before.

There are still a number of stages to go through until the telescope is operational: a complex unfurling procedure must be completed that will last for up to two weeks.

Eventually, the craft will be one million miles from our planet.

Hubble observations actually created a lot of serious problems for the big bang theory. Stars in primitive early galaxies containing heavy elements, The age of globular clusters appear older than the universe, etc. The James Webb telescope could make the big bang theory go bang.

I remember the launch of Hubble and how we were all amazed at the images it captured. James Webb is supposed to have 10x what Hubble is so I can't wait to see what it produces.
