30 videos later, in English and Spanish, and this is the one that works wonders.

I wish more people would appreciate all the "here's a tip: here's what you may be doing wrong" sections.

Went from not being able to put them on (or off for that matter) to putting them on in 30s. Thanks again!

Just wanted to say thank you. Started wearing contacts a while ago. Putting them in was never a problem, taking them out was always difficult. The office I went to showed me how to both insert and remove them, but it wasn't very clear instructions. I had watched your channel about VR and when browsing through your videos, I came across this series. I watched it a couple of times and that evening when I removed my contacts, I followed your instructions. Wow, no problem, so easy. I wish I had this information a long time ago it would have saved me a lot of frustration. thank you again. BTW you channel has a lot of great stuff keep it up.

This video was a lifesaver. I'm trying contacts for the first time after a few years of glasses wearing (48, normal presbyopia but also 1 dioptre far sighted on top of that which the contact is to correct for for outdoor activities) and really struggled to get them in and out.

The optician showed me how to do it and I had to fit and remove them 3 times in a row successfully in front of them before they would let me take them away but I still could not do this successfully 3 times in a row after 3 appointments, partly because being far sighted makes it nearly impossible to see what I'm doing up close as soon as I remove my glasses to fit or remove a contact, so I need a technique that works partly by feel.

I had three different people during the three appointments showing me three different methods none of which worked well for me and only one of them was a contacts wearer themselves so most of them didn't have first hand experience of wearing contacts on a daily basis so were just going by what they were taught.

In desperation I watched a few Youtube videos which again showed several different techniques however I found your video and really liked the look of the tweezer method as I felt that was something I could do by feel. I also found the detailed video footage of the contact going in and coming out extremely helpful as it highlighted some mistakes I had been making.

I went for a 4th appointment and said I was going to try a method that I had seen online, I then proceed to fit and remove both contacts first try with no fuss at all using your method, and was able to repeat it a second and third time as well, although on the third and final time it took two attempts to remove one contact only because I wasn't applying quite enough pressure to the eye before pinching my fingers, but I immediately realised this based on the comments in your video and tried again with a little more pressure before the pinch and out it came. I wore the contacts home that day and was able to remove them first try at home as well.

I like the fact that with the pinch method you actually feel a tiny "squelch" as soon as the contact folds in the middle as you're pinching it, that lets you know you're gripping it and that it's time to pull it out. If you don't feel the squelch you know you haven't folded it away from the eye and to try again and push slightly harder before pinching.

Other mistakes I had been making on my first visits that were pointed out in your video were removing my finger too quickly when inserting a contact (which just pulled it back out and usually caused it to end up on the floor) as it's clear from your video sequences that it takes a couple of seconds for the contact to suction onto the eye across its entire cross section. So in the last appointment I inserted it more slowly then kept gentle pressure on the contact against the eye for about 2 seconds before slowly removing the finger and had no problems at all with putting the contacts in, every attempt worked first time with none lost on the floor...

For removal one mistake I had been making is not to dry my fingers of contact solution before trying to remove the contact - especially after repeated insertion and removals during the "test" where my fingers would get very wet and then slip on the contact. I also found for removal that slightly wiggling the contact left and right with my tweezer fingers before applying the pinch helped make the contact let go a little more easily.

Thank you so much for this video!

Thank you for the instruction! It was very helpful! I’ve been wearing gas permeable for over 24 years. They were no longer working for me. My eye doctor put me in soft recently. Putting soft in and out very interesting and different but I’m getting it slowly. Comfort with soft contacts are working better so far.

Ugg, I spent 2 hrs with the optometrist who didn’t speak very good English who kept yelling at me saying “up, up” the whole time when I was visibly having a hard time. This video worked the best. I almost gave up after the first visit, not a good experience

The doctor spent a good amount of time wrestling them in my eyes then I spent 30 minutes extra in the doctor's office trying to get them out this helped me so much!! A lot of it is just like you said trying to contain your eye from doing whatever it wants. Although I still have difficulty getting them out by myself and it worries me but the slide to the side and then grip method works great for me!

Great tips!!! I love the drag-down method since I've seem quite a few patients get an erosion from too much trauma on the cornea.

Many thanks for this video. At the very first time I tore my left lense and felt myself so disappointed and unsuccessful. Now I could handle my lenses (with the help of your videos) without any problem.

Thank you. First day with contacts. One eye went great! Second eye took a minute, but it came out pretty easily.

Really nice tips for beginners! Be super sure to check them when they come out of the package, like you said. I never had a lint free contact right out of the package.
