I got soft contacts in 1977 when I was about 13 years old. My doctor showed me to how to work with gravity instead of against it, by placing a small mirror on a flat surface, and bending your head over the mirror so the contact doesn't keep slipping down off your finger. Then you just move the lens straight up into your eye instead of trying to go in horizontally while looking at a mirror on a wall. I taught my kids this method and it was much easier for them than using a wall-mounted mirror. Also, my personal tip after 46 years of contacts (older than the Dr.!) is not to focus on the lens you're trying to put in your eye. Look into the mirror with your other eye if you have to look at all, or just don't focus on what's coming at you.

Aight man so after 3 years and so many trial pairs, this was the best video ever. I was able to get them in within 5 minutes of watching the video. I used to blink but the side magic trick is priceless. Thanks Dr, Chua.

I do it this way: I use boston conditioner. I 1st wash my hands, then rub off and rinse my lense from the cleaning solution from last night. Then I put a drop of "wetting solution" on my finger that will put the lense on my eye; then put another drop on/in the lense, look down and put in the lense. It works great as I've had contacts since I was 27 years old. Oh, I'm 77 now.

Ya'll I just found what works for me is all of the above but the key is understanding it seems the cornea or at least mine is dry or mishapen so chances are very unlikely to go right on but when I look slightly up and aim for the white of my eye just below the cornea, it goes right on then slips over the cornea like a glove just about 90% of the time. No other side of my eye seems to work as well.

I guess everyone does it differently I never did the 30° degree turn to the side thing I had my brothers teach me since they wore contacts throughout there lives so I just deal with the straight stare of my finger
