I tried to use Acronis for Crucial, it started very slow, it was 1 TB hard disk with 200 GB busy space and calculated 1 day to finish the process. I did it with Clonezilla and was completed it one hour and 15 minutes.

As a user, this video shows instant action to next action, in reality the acronis sweeping hand gif will spin for approx 3 minutes in-between actions, so sit on your hands and be patient please!

worked fantastic. I had to look for the start as it was not the same on here just the 3 tabs showing. I had to go to the menu on the upper left and click on tools I think. It only took about 25 minutes for 50gb from my new ssd to my old hard drive. every thing was perfect when I booted back up to my old drive like it was my new drive. No passwords to install or anything. exact replica. Thanks so much. 🙂

The cloning wizard is unbelievably slow. Why does it take 10+ minutes to progress from one screen to the next? This is before the real work even starts. It just hangs with a spinning clock symbol and no indication of what it's actually doing or why it's taking slow. WORSE, when I get to the "Disk Usage" screen and select "To replace a disk on this machine", it does the same hang for 10+ minutes and then bounces back to the same screen, WITH NO ERROR OR INDICATION OF WHY IT CAN'T PROCEED. i literally wasted 2 hours accomplishing absolutely nothing, and with no clues for how to fix it, I'm forced to use an alternative program.

Bought a bx500 1tb drive to replace my old 2tb original sata drive.

Shrunk the 2tb disk drive down and cloned it using the software. Software said clone was successful.

Took out my hard drive and put the new one in and booted up but now had a message saying “repairing disk errors - might take over an hour”

Is this normal or has something gone wrong? Will obviously wait and see what happens but if anyone knows?

*update* after a few hours it said it couldn't fix the issue and no other trouble shooting options worked either so I assume the cloning procedure didn't fully work.

This seems to be backed up by forums suggesting the software instructions are incorrect and that you need to have the new ssd drive in the computer when you clone the old one to it otherwise it can't be read.

This didn't work for me. I got a notification saying the the cloning was successful but when I remove the old drive and reboot it goes straight into the bios. The new drive is found but it says there are no bootable drives available.

For those having issues with recognition
problem: Partion recognized by system but not by the cloning softwar. Answer: The issue is more than likely youre using a USB that isnt supported by the software. In this case if you are able to, switch to sata as its faster anyway !

So far, using Aronis True Image to transfer contents of P3 Plus 1 TB to P5 Plus 2TB (about 650GB of data), it saying it is taking only 44 minutes. The only weird thing is that it created a 1TB partition on the 2TB drive. I should be able to expand that in Windows 11 after the cloning is done. I hope.

Hi sir, i was trying to clone all the file from my old HDD to new SsD( mx500 1tb). However, the laptop turned to sleep mode and caused the cloning process failed. Thus, i had formatted the new ssd in order to make sure the new ssd is empty. Cloning completed for second attempt but it show up blue screen ( recovery) and mentioned some of the files is missing. is it caused by original file inside ssd was deleted. Appreciate if you could advise on this. Hope to hear from you soon.

I've bought a crucial p3 500gb nvme ssd, though I have to clone a 1tb hdd but only a few gigabytes has been used, should I shrink the partitions? or Acronis will manage?

Acronis True Image for Crucial program will not open the "Clone Disk" tool. Any ideas of other cloning software suggestions?

Have a question, using this soft for migrate old PC hdd to ssd, but sometimes it works like this video, but 2x/8 it works differently, and I dont know why. Computers are very similar cnfig(W10, i5) .Acronis start normaly, but in first phase when locking disk/partitions show message, that I should have restart. But after restart not boot to Windows, but to some Acronis environment where running copiing disk sectors...Everything looks good, but I can't boot from either drive...Whats happend, why this behavior?

Cloning disk’s estimated time left shows 1d 5h remaining. I don’t know what to do after this. Should I cancel? Or wait for a day?

Acronis does not recognize the Crucial SSD that I connected with USB enclosure device although pc recognizes it perfectly. There is an answer to a similar question in Acronis forum advising cloning from USB to PC instead of PC to USB. But it is illogical since requires replacing empty new SSD and connecting the old one from USB. The operating system runs at the old one, then why don't you clone directly from PC to USB??? Additionally there are lots of unanswered questions here, Crucial does not care about the problems that their customers face when they just try to use their suggested cloning program instead of Macrium, etc.

I just received my MX500 which should replace a 1TB HDD from my Windows 7 computer. Impossible to get through 'Disk Usage' step when trying to clone... The clock is running for 1 or 2 minutes and then it does not get me to the next step ('Finish'), it stays stuck to step 'Disk Usage'. I don't know what to do.
