Here's a weird take that just occurred to me: enforcing celibacy until a certain point is ineffective for actual relationship growth if you dont have the right mindset. Instead of taking the focus off sex, you elevate sex to some lofty standard that needs to be lived up to. It's basically edging. Sexual urges (while diverse and on a spectrum) are natural and part of the human experience. When approached safely and respectfully, they should be a healthy part of a relationship.
Telling your partner (or yourself) we cant have sex, we dont deserve it yet, or it's a distraction, is a futile effort without tempering the intimate desire to be with someone. Like, you dont want to be a slave to your desires, so work on that. But the skit is demonstrating that disconnect of people only wanting sex, or thinking things will improve if sex is off the table. Delaying gratification is not the same as addressing underlying chemistry problems or individual flaws. Being honest about "i like sex, and its important to my connection with you" is not depraved or immoral to admit. But if its the ONLY thing keeping you with this person... Yeah you should probably introspect before getting a divorce after getting married so you could have sex.
