This is to answer a minimalism for beginners question from Sarah who’s a subscriber.

She wants advice and tips on how to start on her minimalism journey and get more organized in the process.

I get this and similar questions a lot so I thought I'd address it and give you my two cents in this video.

I get so many questions about the things in my apartment and what I like and wear so I've collected links for many of them below.

I love how you said 'consider subscribing' in a non-demanding voice.

The part about minimizing people is really interesting. It's not just about material things, it's also about things taking up space in your head!

With sentimental items, my take is: why keep something you don't like to remind you of someone you do like?

My mother and MIL drain the life out of me! I love them both but I can’t stand them for too long! Minimalising relationships is so important too!

Of all those minimalism videos out there, this is my favorite. You’ve condensed everything down into such simple concepts, but without judgement, and as usual, oh so beautifully!

Thanks for your tips 💛 My kids are already adults and I moved with my dogs to a smaller flat. Finally it's my time and start a new adventure to live alone. Minimalism is my choice 💛

I've been watching many of your decluttering videos and am so inspired by them! I decluttered my entryway and refreshed (and decluttered) my bedroom as well. Thank you for sharing your advice and for all your content!

Hope you are doing well. You are included in my prayer list (hope that’s all right). Your videos have become a place of comfort for me. Everything about them is soothing. The visuals, the topics and your voice. I just want you to know that there is a random women in Connecticut, USA that is grateful for you! 🙏🏼

Exactly the way I started, drawers. Took a year to go through the whole house. Then we sold all of that or gave it away and moved into a smaller home. Started over getting rid of all the extra. Then we moved into a small apartment 340 square feet for the short term future being near an elderly mom. Big pieces we weren’t ready to get rid of went into our shop storage. Our oldest daughter and family moved into our small house. I do not know how long this will last or what we will do once we aren’t needed here but we do have everything we need now and we’ve lived here a year and a half without going into that storage for anything so my decisions have felt right.

I keep going back to this clip. Your message has facilitated me to let go of stuff/people more easily than hanging on to the sentimental value. Thank you, Benita ❤

I enjoyed this video, and for me the most stand-out thought was exchanging things you inherited/got to something more better suited for you! Thanks.

The level of detail just gives me comfort. I think in such a fast paced environment, we miss the details.

Great video, I keep things for sentimental reasons, things given to me from friends who have passed away.
As you said things are not people, but I do remember them when I see the object.
I do want to declutter and have less but it’s the emotional attachment.

Memories can’t be taken away. But I like reminders in photos etc

I like what you said about thinking of it as space saved or time instead of money lost. (5:04)

You showed us with visuals how to declutter room by room. I really enjoyed this video. I just wish I could get my husband interested in decluttering his things too. Your space is so serene. 🙌🏻

Love, love, love your videos. I'm minimalizing in my home too. I don't watch tv anymore, just YouTube, and you are by far my favourite. Thanks Benita
