My “Why” is that I want to concentrate on other things, more important things.. I spent 35 years trying to keep up with the Jones! And you know what? No matter how much money and stuff you collect, the Jones have more! And even if you become the Jones.. you will find out that all that stuff doesn’t make you happy... Happy is sitting in the back yard having a cup of coffee with my wife! Not some BMW or huge walk in closet full of clothes ! It took me a long time to learn this, but I am finally on the right path!!

Confessions of a nursing student. I’ve struggled to find the path to a clear mindset. When I look around all I see is “stuff” in my room, in my house, in my head, on social media, even in my car. I found myself crying because I become so overwhelmed with my surroundings. Less its truly more. To say I can’t wait to start this journey is an understatement. Thank you, thank you, thank you✨ #Beginner

I think maybe instead of "always have fun", maybe "always find peace" - then again I guess that advice really depends upon the reason why you want to become a minimalist. I enjoy your videos thank you for making them short succinct and valuable

I’m just starting out on this journey. I haven’t used the word minimalist in front of my family yet. So far I have emptied out or spare bedroom that has been nothing but storage for 15 years. I thought I’d start in the room that the kids have the least attachments too. The toys will be my last thing to declutter .We are a family of 10 living in 1300 sq ft. We need to reclaim every inch of space to make this house work for us .You and the Minimalist Mom have been my motivation. Thanks

I really think that tip number two should be to take your time and be mindful of each item that you declutter.

I only say that because if u just bin something just because you think you need to bin it, i dont think you will understand fully the reason that you do it.

You should get rid of something because you understand that this item doesn't add some kind of value to your life. That will prevent you of making a mistake and buying something mindlessly.

The last tip tho is sooo true. You need to have fun. You need to understand why and have fun.

Also, the selective hearing is such a good idea. People around you won't understand why tou want to declutter. And a lot of the time they even might get offended that you might have decluttered something that they bought you (thats a whole video on its own) .

Keep on rocking with these videos man. So insightful even for minimalists who are years on this journey.

I'm a couple of months into being more minimalistic. That for me is to quiet the clutter...make my home calmer, cleaner, easier to manage, Also...I'm at an age where I don't want to leave all this for my kids to have to deal with at some point when I'm gone. So the why for me is straight forward. I may never be a strict minimalist..but I can be better at valuing things in my life and jettesoning that that doesn't serve me, bring joy any longer or just don't need anymore, You gave very clear tips. Thank you...subbed.

Love your idea of goals. It's so easy not to have time to sort through things but workable goals keep me slowly moving forward. I like to set a timer for 15 min and go through what I can.

Finally! Someone that doesn't feel like they're trying to be an influencer with everything so staged and scripted and telling me to subscribe and hit the bell! THANK YOU for being one of the few people with good advise, that gets right down to it, and is personable and relatable. Wonderful content!
