To be fair. He's celebrated among the field, but the real crime is that he wasn't recognized publicly for a long time

Having ideas that are out there is how brilliant solutions are also realized. Not all ideas need to succeed; they merely need to seed another (viable) idea.

I didn't learn about Nikola Tesla in school. They always taught about Thomas Edison. I learned about him when I became an electrician when they taught AC and DC theory.

Tyson: "Some of his ideas were out there"
Rogan: "You're an astrophysicist. All your ideas are "out there" ."

His power transmission through the air demonstration at the Paris exhibition laid the ground work for radio and television

Say what you will but I studied Tesla and He was lightyears ahead of all his peers, He single handedly invented AC current, AC motors, Electromatic induction, Radio, Robotics, Remote controls and so much more. There a documentry that claimed He was "the Man who invented the 20thCentury" and they we're not wrong!

8 years of elementary, 4 years of high school and not a single mention about N. Tesla. Yeah Tesla is credited with a lot😢😢😢

We only think it’s impossible until someone makes it possible

The thing is, there is two Nikola Tesla fan clubs: the ones who think he wasn’t recognised for his work and the ones who think he close to aligning the worlds pyramids for free energy and unlocking secrets that we have not found to this day.

He may be highly recognized today for his contributions and achievements, but he was wronged in his time

From what I understand, Tesla was trying to use the very real Magnetic Resonant Wireless Power Transfer that we use in all of our wireless charging today. You'd think Neil would have seen wireless electric car chargers and stuff by now.
It's just that he was trying to use the Earths massive magnetic field to do it across large distances rather than using tiny magnetic fields from a phone or car wireless charger. It was not only a reasonable thing to attempt, but it was absolutely genius even if what we eventually learned is that it borders the line of implausible and unfathomably impractical.

No one ever mentions that when he did his wireless energy experiments it lit the bulbs, but upset all the horses when their hooves started sparking....

"Can I blow your mind?" proceeds not to blow your mind, classic Neil

He never proposed sending energy through the air. The plan was to use the earth's crust, which is granite, as the conductor by broadcasting electricity at the resonant frequency to exploit the piezoelectric properties to free up electrons to conduct the current. The "death ray" was closer to your image of broadcast energy.

"By my people" is carrying a lot of weight there. Until recently, the general public knew nothing of him and his contribution.

You have to be a mad scientist to discover what Nikola Tesla did.

Lmao Neil says Tesla’s ideas were “out there, ” as if he’s crazy. Except we know Tesla invented hundreds of things one would’ve only dreamed of in the past.

He was recognised only after his death...

99.9% of I agree with you Dr. Dyson, , but in a specific case, I think that a lot of what Tesla was innovating and doing would have been grateful to us now. And while I know you say that the world resources can do much more until we decide how to use them, and while I do understand that it would take grandiose minerals and deposits and everything for us to do; I still believe Mr Tesla had a point. I think the world will be much better off if we did not have to use all these wires and things that we have throughout the world, , utilizing our internal planets composite, , had we just, Cynthia electricity wirelessly, like we do cell phones now... I hope you don't take offense because I'm one of your biggest fans and I love you, . However I think with Tesla, there are a lot of things that are missed..

Considering that most of us played with crystal radios - simple devices which could not only tune in on a specific radio frequency but also use the energy of that signal to power a tiny amplifier for playback - and we now have transponders everywhere - radio transmitters which are powered by proximity to a specific radio signal - it's pretty obvious that Tesla had far more on the ball than we ever realized.
