Yeah, I have seen a couple of girls like that in college. I never saw them separately. Always together.

It's called color confinement. The energy needed to separate them is the exact amount of energy needed to generate a quark/anti quark pair.

Man really said "double it and give it to the next person"

When I did my physics degree, this was my favourite part of the whole thing. I just love the idea that there can never be a single quark.

In quantum physics the family of leptons exhibit strange properties.

He makes me think I can pull on quarks with a pair or tweezers

He explained this better than anyone. Thank you

Love the way he explains modern physics. Great job 👏

Man they sound really strange, yet I’m charmed. Subatomic physics really has its ups and down.

so thats how you turn energy into matter, interesting

Me to my crush: "are you a quark? because I can't be separated from you"

So it's kinda like fighting the hydra. You put all your energy to cutting off a head only to have two more take it's place...

"Force gets stronger the more you pull them apart."

Sounds like a rubber band.

I'm thinking of Star Trek the original - episode The Empath. The Force Field around Captain Kirk & Spock gets stronger the more they resist and try to break free.

Context: Neil was asked how the weather was.

I like how quarks turned "corks" in closed caption

Serious question: If you can’t isolate them, can you shift their bond to a different pair of quarks?

A very interesting phenomenon from the Quantum world as described, brilliantly from Dr. Tyson. Quarks surely are in a unique space like a new frontier. I bet the hidden secrets, and unknowns are numerous, exceeding beyond our reach at present.

So it means that if we somehow managed to separate two quarks, then we can create matter from just energy (the energy applied to separate the quarks) ??

If I had a professor who could explain physics to me like this during university I could have passed physics. Unfortunately, I had a man that had never cleaned himself and only spoke broken English. Apparently he was a genius or something and we were lucky to have him, but I could not understand 70% of what he said.
