How To Fix ANY Muscle Imbalance (3 SIMPLE STEPS!)

As you can tell by the thumbnail today we're talking about muscle imbalances so if you're dealing with one then this will help you fix it!

This is one of those topics that really don't warrant a long drawn out video because to correct this is pretty simple. First thing is you have to start doing more unilateral work which will allow you to keep an eye on your form and correct any differences you identify between the left and right side of your body. Second, you have to add additional reps to your smaller/weaker side. That's going to allow it to catch up over time. Finally if it's really bad you need to dedicate time to train that body part on that side of your body on days it doesn't normally fall on. If you have a noticeable difference then you're going to need to make it a priority and really hammer on it.

whether you have uneven pecs or one arm is bigger than the other, it will only take you a short time before you even out those gains. Get after it!

Been needing this video. Every since quarantine, my right hand’s been way more stronger than my left

I really needed this. My left side is drastically smaller than my right from all the years of uncorrected scoliosis, and now that i've gained its obvious which side was effected the most.

In all my years in this industry, this humble giant has become my all time favorite source of fitness . You my friend are making the world a better place. If you can't reach get your self a paddle and pat yourself on the back for me.

Erin Stern's best advice was when working one side at a time always start with the weak side first. Like dumbbell curls. If you can only do 9, do 9 on the right side also, even if you can do ten. It took almost a year but at 60 i worked it out. Visually, were always the same but not the same strength.

1. Film your lifting posture

2. Integrate unilateral (one-sided) exercises at the beginning and end of your workout

3. Work your weak side harder and more frequently

usually what happens to me is that even though my left arm is weaker, i'm able to do more unilateral reps with it because during the compound movements, ive been using more of my right side so its more fatigued

Personally I think the arm imbalance is caused by using one arm more than the other during compound lifts. My right bicep is still bigger than my left even though I do more bicep curls with my left arm.

Also, which arm you use for "self-pleasure" is totally irrelevant. I'm right-handed but I've always been a leftie, and my left arm is still weaker.

Ryan, you're very correct. Though I'm right handed, I tend to watch my left handed uses. I was amazed on my bench presses, which I first started to notice, among other left handed uses and started to use my left hand a slightly more to catch up with my right, and am now getting more symmetrical in looks and adaption. Great video. After watching it I will try harder with your ways.

i've noticed that working on my posture, mobility and stretching tightness in muscles has immensely worked for me

These videos are straight up the only reason why I've managed to fix everything I've been doing wrong with working out and dieting. Quick and gets straight to the point. All these other fitness channels can suck it.

It’s hurting my performance so much in the gym it’s gotten to a point where I can do 6 more reps on the right arm then I can on the left

Good ideas! Construction workers, mechanics (people that work with their hands) are usually imbalanced on the dominant side. Another tip: Appear 3 inches bigger than you are by wearing a size small T-shirt when you need a large. Thanks Ryan!

My left arm is longer the shoulder is higher😟, and ALL muscles on that side slightly weaker, I do exactly what you say, it's helping.👏🏼👍🏻

really needed this. i’ve been playing basketball all my life and not really doin any muscle/strength training until now. im 20 and i’ve been lifting for 3-4 weeks consistently and im noticing my dominant dribbling arm is almost 3x more coordinated and stronger than my left. and on my day after rest coming back to lift i noticed my right arm muscles are almost completely dead but my left arm is just sore or barely even sore when i was done on the prior day.

I don't know about arm imbalances but if God Of War had a movie, you would be the one.

Thanks for the tips. Love the humor that comes with the knowledge. I have had 4 knee surgeries and 1 shoulder surgery on my right side so I am going to try these tips out. Thank you
