DASHCAM: Police officer arrested, charged with OVI

“I see your badge, but I’m telling you, your speech is slurred, you reek of alcohol,” the arresting officer tells Cincinnati police Capt. Amanda Caton at one point. “You’ve put me in a bad spot.”

Capt. Caton and her husband Patrick, also a Cincinnati officer, were visibly and audibly drunk when Loveland police pulled them over Sunday night. Caton was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

“I’m not going to charge you for the gun, I’m not going to do that to you, I have too much respect for you” WTF! They’re drunk cops with their firearms on them! Hey, if we have to follow the laws, so do they!

The fact that they are upset that they are being held accountable for their own actions goes to show the culture that is cultivated by too many police departments. Police officers must be held to a higher standard than the general public, not a lower one.

You are not allowed to carry a firearm when you are drinking. It is a felony. He should have charged both of them for that and her with the OVI also. Again cops are treated differently than the rest of us.

Here's the problem: you just admitted that they are both committing felonies, yet since they are cops, you won't arrest them for it.
