Fellow fishers are genuinely nice in my experiences

I started sport-fishing two years ago, with zero experience, whatsoever! I got on a boat that takes veterans out and my passion exploded! In two years I’ve made tons of reel (like that) friends, who’ve turned into life time brothers and the best part is they’ve all taken me under their wings! Not only have a got some pretty bad ass free gear, this year I start my new job as a deck hand on a veteran charter guide boat. Talk about manifesting your destiny and dreams. Tomorrow I leave for two weeks to fish Detroit Lake for Kokanee and the following week we are in Newport Oregon to fish for Herring in The Yaquina Bay. All bait fish for the big dogs out in the deep blue sea. Tight Lines and Good Tides!

Literally just met a real swell dude named Travis at the lake this morning. Fishermen have a bond just like bikers.

Fishermen are honestly some of the funniest and nicest people I've met. Any time I go out I can just talk to one and we have a conversation like old friends. Great hobbg

Bro saying “And if youre lucky enough, they might share bait with you” like RNG type shit from a videogame 😭😭😭

Here's something for those catching or fishing for trout. DO NOT UNDER ANY CONDITION use a cloth rag, or a cloth shirt, or a cloth net to hold or catch it (no fabrics) . Anything besides your hand will rub off the oils coating the trouts scales which make the trout less immune to disease and other illnesses, meaning when you'd release it- it would most likely die.

I would add that if you're bringing out children or ppl fishing for their 1st time; bring a can of nightcrawlers. That way you can almost guarantee that they will catch at least a few fish.

3 great tips that have helped me no end. I swapped down from a 14cm to a 7cm lure and caught a 10lb pike! I always change spots and it definitely works to keep mobile when lure fishing. Asking for help or for tips from local anglers has caught me fish before also!

My problem is that when I talk to a fellow fisher I usually can’t get them to shut up afterwards 🤣

Something that still stands out to me is when I was 7 years old, I was fishing a dock all day long (probably close to 6 hrs in total) and got skunked. The older gentleman next to me had reeled in multiple 24” pike. I asked him what he was using and he said he had a five of diamonds. After looking through my dad’s tackle box which I had brought with me, I found nothing. I asked the man what else I should use and he cut his five of diamonds off and gave it to me. 7 year old me caught a 22” pike second cast. I still have the spoon; I am 26 today. Won’t ever fish with it again. Keeping it to remind myself to always help others. Maybe one day I can cut it off my rig and hand it down to a little man just like I was.

I’ve always loved fishing because everyone you meet is almost always nice and shares a bunch of helpful advice.

He's right. I have gotten some great tips on lure fishing from that dude next to you catching fish. I was surprised how willing they were to help me out and give tips. I've even had someone give my spoon and my son caught a decent Northern Pike. His first lure catch. Good video bro.

I almost exclusively wade to fish creeks in TN, any time I see someone else who asks about what I use or tips on where to fish, pretty much every time if I’ve got extras I’ll give them what I use and tell them where I use it. If they’re really into it, I send them my google maps saved spots list. I wish more fishermen would try to get more people into it, I absolutely love sharing my passion

I love this!! I'm not new to fishing but number 3 is absolutely correct, I've learned my best tricks from random fishermen.

these are really good tips even for experienced anglers. especially the covering water one. i’ve witnessed many people at my local ponds set up in one spot and not move for hours. i’m constantly moving, my goal is to make sure every fish in the body of water sees my lure at least once. great video!

-even if you're not catching, don't get upset,
It's called fishing not catching.
Doesn't matter if you catch 1fish, or 1, 000fish, it's going to be the same.
