When I was a kid my dad used to take me fishing before he died. We always did float fishing. It was such a thrill seeing the float bob up then shoot under the water. It’s been 16 years since my dad died and 16 years since I last went fishing. These videos really give me a good nostalgia hit and make me want to get back into it! 😁

I know this is quite old, I've just watched it with my granddaughter, I'm 60 now, past tutorial, however how I wish we had this tech in the 70s😂, I started at about 10ish, I went fishing for 2 years without a fish. (less stickleback), a day I will never forget, I was fishing the river tees for dace, a man from Nottingham, (the tees back then in winter was a top dace venue) he stopped fishing and came to my peg, he talked me through the whole thing, simler to what you have done, never looked back at, 13 and again at 14 I was selected to fish the national junior championships for "North Yorkshire and south Durham" I can't thank that man enough, now days with tech at you're finger tips, my granddaughter is bang into fishing, this is a joy for both of us, well done.

I am probably a little beyond the tutorial level, but loved watching the video. You kept it easy and simple to understand.

There can be something so cathartic about watching a subject you love and appreciate be explained to a beginner for the first time. This video reminded me of learning to fish with my Dad many years ago, and gave me the excitement of those first casts all over again. Thanks guys! PS what a wonderful Tench!

Hi Carl, just watched your appearance on The Thinking Tackle Podcast.
I am one of the boom time covid viewers who after being put on furlough for a month found you and Alex channel.
I find your personal story amazing, from being bullied at school, suffering panic attacks, confidence issues but to have the huge determination to provide such honest and wonderful content that you do.
To see the video of you and your dad brushing off the snow from your van to go catch carp on the canal, see you help the old man who had fallen on the ice and be soo caring to others and to see the moment you met Ommi truly amazing.
Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing your future blossom.

Thanks to an old friend I have just got back into fishing after 40 plus years and found your videos a real inspiration to watch. I am currently in the process of noting down all the equipment and tackle I need to get started again, cheers.

Another great fishing tutorial. I love keeping things simple and doing some float fishing. One of the best bits of advice i was ever given was to remember that "any movement at the reel end of your rod is amplified at the tip. You don't have to move your rod far when you strike." Keep it up lads. I'm hoping to get your book soon.

Nicely done! Reminded me of my childhood days, when I mostly fished float style! And loved every minute! Over those formative years I did catch silver fish but I was aiming for carp, and caught some good carp too! Up to 15lb and one time caught a 3lb Perch! Great fun!

I’m a happily skilled angler but still love to watch you tutorial video. Helps me if I do so happen to miss something here and there

Really helpful video made everything simple. I used to go fishing with my dad when I was younger and haven't done it for a long time. I wanted to get into it, and after watching your videos, I got some very basic tackle and have been twice over the last couple of weeks and absolutely loved it. Caught absolutely loads nothing special but exactly what you want when getting into it. Already thinking of upgrading my equipment, and after watching your carp setup video, I will be having a go at that, too. Can already tell fishing will do me a world of good. Thank you.

I'm not an expert angler by any means, but I'm not a beginner either, but these videos almost make me want to be one just experience that first excitement from learning stuff and with you guys as teachers it would just be a pleasure to do so!

That said, for some reason, in this video you really do look like your brothers brother, as in, the physical similarities between you and Alex are really striking, which is something I didn't really notice before hand.

Thanks for all the hard work you lads put in, wish you all the best and happy holidays!

I've give up carp fishing just got bored waiting for alarms to go off. Felt like I wernt fishing. So it's nice to see float fishing vid also love feeder fishing as that's what I done before the carp buzz got me.now 51 yrs of being a fisherman I'd say 26 yrs was carp fishing only so last 2yrs gone back to float and feeder and have lots of guru items love the drag line I use 8lb drag line and very strong so far had 3 twenty pound carp on it whilst feeder fishing wasn't expecting them on mixed fishery.
