The Carlinkit 5.0 2air is the best wireless carplay and android auto adapter that I've tested. The first two I tested would not connect to the car unless you unplug and replug them in every time, which is just frustrating and unnecessary - you might as well just plug your car into the wired connection and be done with wireless. This is probably just qa quirk for MG/MG4, but if you're having trouble connecting wirelessly using an adapter, maybe you need to be able to adjust many settings as the Carlinkit allows you to.

So the main reason why I believe the Carlinkit 5.0 2air is the best is because...

1) Huge amount of configuration options. You may not need them, but then again, you might. I couldn't get the other 2 working properly in the MG4, but the Carlinkit worked first time - after I changed the startup delay. This may also help other car models where you have to unplug and replug the adapter every time to get it to work.

2) Supports both Carplay and Android auto in one unit. Useful!

3) The price - it's cheap!

Now one thing I didn't emphasise enough in the video, is that your car must already support (wired) carplay / android auto for this to work. If your car just has a USB outlet, adding a wireless carplay adapter won't automatically give you this feature. These wireless adapters simple mean you can skip plugging your phone into USB for carplay or android auto.

This was tested on a 2023 MG4 Excite 51 with factory built in carplay and android auto. I haven't tested this adapter with an aftermarket stereo with wired carplay/android auto, however I believe there would be no difference in performance.

Hey, I have had the same issue with wireless CarPlay, one thing that is different on yours to mine is maybe the software version of the car, I’m in the uk and have a rear fog light, when Apple CarPlay is on using a normal cable I have a black bar at the top showing the fog light button, outside temp and eSIM signal. The car play is slightly squished to allow you to see the top bar. Why can’t I see it on yours?

It's definitely NOT a reliable wireless solution for the MG4.
I got one but it only works about 60% of the time. Have the delay start at 20 seconds, and other settings as suggested by manufacturer's troubleshooting but it's just not reliable. Blank screen, no connection. Sometimes works. iPhone 11.

i had the Original Calinket 5.0 Air2 and send it back wasn't even possible to work on my MG4 with iPhone 15 Pro, will try this one it's a clone I think cause it has the same menu.. Did you do the test when you are both in the car with you're Android and iPhone can you switch with this unit or is it the first phone in row who connects ?

I recently purchased the Carlinkit 5.0 from Walmart for $45US for my 2021 Ford Escape PHEV and it works great! Not sure why you needed to add a 20 second delay. I didn’t add the delay and it connects to CarPlay fast and works every time!

Nope, it didn’t work for me. Gotten Carlin 3.0 to Toyota RAV4 Hydrid 2020. Watched half a dozen of YouTube, as to how simple to connect. I spent hours to connect, it came on and split seconds later, it turns off. So, mailed it back for refund.

My wife just bought a 2023 build MG ZS Excite, which only has CarPlay and 1 USB connection that has the standard USB symbol on it. We both have Samsung Galaxy A11, Model # SM-A115F. I've been looking at all the adapters and the one I have ordered is the CarLinkit 4.0. I have watched the review of it and also the version 5 on YouTube by Anthony Barker (CarPlayLife). Apparently the model 5.0 won't work properly with the MG ZS whereas the 4.0 does work. What are your thoughts on the version 4 (blue) model? Thanks ....

Not displaying the song info on the infotainment screen (where you see the weather/charging state/radio/navigation) otherwise connects every time, no black screens, music plays perfectly. - yet when plugged in with the wire it does display it.
