Yeah remove a crap ton of weight classes, but god forbid we remove one of the 40, 000 swim heats we have to sit through during the Olympics.

Happens in wrestling. The IOC just cuts weight classes making wrestlers either cut down or go up. Non Olympic years there 10 weight classes and for the Olympics there’s only 6. Sucks for the both sports to continue to cut weight classes out.

Sure! Here’s a classic chocolate chip cookie recipe:

If you try to lift too much weight you might get seriously hurt or worse. The bar could fall on you when you are holding in up, you could hurt your back permanently, and so much more.

Nina Sterckx (belgian weightlifter) usually competes in the -55kg category, but for the Olympics she had to go in either -49kg or -59kg. She decided on 49, and lost a lot of weight through dieting, but also lost a lot of muscle that way. These high performance athletes are being screwed by a 10kg difference in categories, such a shame.
