When I was a child, I believe I had an encounter with a mermaid at Coney Island Beach in Brooklyn… When I was younger, I got caught in a riptide and I went underwater and was swept away .. I remember feeling what felt like hands on the lower part of my back of my back pushing me or more like guiding me back towards the shore. Next thing you know I washed up on shore with my mother screaming her head off panicking … we left immediately, and my mother never brought me back to the beach again ..I was like five years old, but I’ve never forgot that story in detail I don’t speak about it much because people do think you’re crazy, but it happened. It was very real.

My uncle use to tell us this story about mermaids when he was in the army. See back then when you joined the army they use to take you to these strange islands. He said he encountered a large lion. 3 times big then a normal lion, big foot, mermaids, fairies and other things. I was about 6 when he told me and was about 12 when he told me again. I asked him recently, the story never changed. Not one detail. He said some of them of them do look human. He said they kissed them and they were able to breathe under water. He's 86 now. My still good. And I still believe him.

In 2012, I was living in Sioux Falls, SD. One night 4 demonic beings came into my home; they walked right through the walls. At that time, I was not a Christian, in fact I was abusing drugs and alcohol as well as dabbling in the occult, which is why these creatures had complete access to me. They were brownish gray in appearance and very tall, almost to the ceiling. They did not have distinct facial features that I could see (no eyes, ears, nose or mouth) and they spoke to me telepathically. They demanded that I go and shoot my neighbor who I had previously had troubles with. I have never been so terrified in my entire life, I would have done anything to get them to leave me alone. By the grace of God my neighbor was not home that night. Not knowing what to do when I got back home I ran into the bathroom and locked the door behind me and called my twin sister. They came through the bathroom wall and picked me up by my back and threw me across the room because I didn’t do as they had told me. I begged for my life, I thought they were going to kill me. I was so terrified that I lost control of my bowel as well as my bladder. My sister said the phone got disconnected and she called the police as she had heard me screaming and getting tossed around and the shrieking noises they were making. By the time the police came the creatures disappeared.

I am now a born again Christian and know that these “aliens” were actually fallen angels. I wish I would have known then what I know now, I would have cried out to Jesus for His protection as demons must flee at the name of Jesus!

My father had an encounter with mermaid. Back when the river had tall bushes and thicker vegetation. He used to go fishing at sunset. One time she heard a woman singing. She said the voice was so beautiful. She looked for the source of the sound and it was a woman sitting on a big rock with long hair, its back was on my father and when she turned around she looked like an ugly horrifying monster and dived back to the river thats when he saw it was half fish.

My mom born 1945 in Cambodia. She told us she encountered one in her early days. During that time we were watching "little mermaid " when she told us. She said when she was out collecting water she saw one. She described it as almost like the cartron accept that it was bald and slimy and gross looking. Fast forward 25+yrs into the early 2000's after she told us the story: animal planet, history channel or national geographic, one of them came out about the about the first mermaid ever. I was always taught that mermaids kidnap and eat children. My grandma always put safety pins on the grand kids when we went to the beach. She said the mermaids are afraid of metal pointy objects. Long time ago, a friend of her son was apparently taken from the same beach we used to visit. We called them sirena in the Philippines.

I'm from Zambia and there are many stories about them in places where we have great water bodies. There is one that dwells in the Zambezi that the natives actually use to worship. Stories also of people that went swimming in certain parts of the rivers and lakes but went missing because they were pulled down to the deep by such creatures. My dad was born in 1942, he told our family this story one evening about a mermaid him and his grandpa seen when he was a little boy. This is whag he told us, "One time when I was just a little boy I was with my grandpa and some other men on this 4-5 day trip hearding horses to another farm. He said he remembers his grandpa telling some of the other men that the horses were getting tired and there was a lake nearby so that is where they were going to set up camp for the night. He remembers early that next morning while it was still somewhat dark out, very minimal light I heard the horses going crazy, neighing and very ansy. My grandpa purposely tied the horses by the lake so they could drink but when he seen them they were spooked and tried so hard to get free but could not and this was making them nervous and ansy. As I got closer to the horses I began to hear this woman singing, it had the most beautiful voice. As I got to the beginning of the beach from the bush I noticed the voice was coming from the lake where this thing half human half fish with long black hair, gray skin and an ugly face was sitting on these rocks looking towards him. When it noticed my dad it had stopped singing but I was frozen with fear. I couldnt scream or even move, I dont know if I was even breathing. Luckily my grandpa heard the horses and me leaving the tent so he was right behind me and when that thing seen my grandpa it dove into the lake and all my grandpa seen was its bottom half or its fin splashing as it smashed against the water before submerging itself. Im glad he seen it because I dont think anyone would have believed me if he didn't."

He stated they live in caves, filled with water or seawater and eat raw fish. He told me the story of one of the girls, a little girl who accidentally took a cup from a cave by the water, the mermaid came to her mother in a dream and told her to tell her daughter bring the cup back, and she will not be harmed.
