Pope Francis apologized for swatting a woman's hand after she yanked him towards herself on New Year's Eve at the Vatican.

Anyone who gets yanked will be annoyed. That lady should be apologizing for rudely pulling the Pope, not the Pope. Wonder what the bodyguard of Trudeau or Trump will do to that Lady if she yanked them just like that.

And this is why we should not be trying to "end violence against women". Men are already comparatively helpless in the face of women's aggression. Women feel entitled to grab, push, claw, slap, hit.. and no that most of the time, there are no repercussions.


Here, we have a man who responded quite reasonably, and apparently he is a part of the powerful patriarchy, but he is the one who has to apologize. So who really is powerful here?


In an example we should all be able to agree on, a king has power over his subjects. If a king overstepped a boundary, would he have to apologize? If a subject bumps into the king, and the king hits the subject, would the king have to apologize? Would a king not have the right to hit a subject, pretty well regardless of circumstances?

To be fair if I was an elderly infirm gentleman on top of a religious hierarchy I'd probably react like that too if a stranger grabbed me and tried pulling me into the crowd, what with possibly being the target of some radical group or disturbed person(s)
