It’s a deeply painful and complex issue. Many people feel that the actions of individuals should not define the entire institution, especially when those actions are so contrary to its teachings. It’s understandable to feel that these abuses are damaging the church from within.

As a gay person it feels good hearing the pope saying that :) love is love and he see's it as it is. #Love #Pope

Finally a pope that focuses on being a good Christian rather than condemning others in order to feel better about himself.

Gays, women and the poor. That should be about 4/5 of humanity.

Controversial? This is a sign of hope.

Everyone saying the bible condemns homosexuality is laboring under a fundamental misunderstanding of the historical nature of scripture. A more accurate translation of those passages would condemn pederasty, not homosexuality. I'll say that again: The bible condemns the sexual abuse of children. It does not refer to loving, committed homosexual relationships. Unfortunately, the two have been historically conflated through mistranslation of scripture.

Too little, too late: I am very happy as an ex-Catholic! Besides, there's a big difference between the pope saying something "should" happen and it actually being embraced by the church.

Christians say that they don't go by the OT anymore (like Lev. 20:13). Moses was a man of his times, and looking back we can see he was an immoral, unethical and cruel man like others around him, too.

I guess the Bible is of no concern or your eternal destination seeing so many endorsements of perversion. What happened to common sense or the natural order. Now we embrace the unnatural and the immoral. No need to quote Leviticus 18:22 you guys want a leader that ignores scripture and embraces sin so you got your guy so smile you win!

To Little, To Late, The Catholic church should apology to a lot of people. Buy religion is dying all over the world and a day is coming where the Catholic church and others will be just memories!

Sad is the day when we have to apologise to man for God's word. Shame. Lord forgive us for we know not what we do.
