Even tho he's Pope he's still an 80 something years old grumpy man sometimes

He apologized for slapping her on her hands, he wanted to slap her in the face.

He should have shown a little compassion. God knows how long those pilgrims were waiting to see him. He apologized because it has been shown all over the world.
It was in the best interest that he apologized. He should slap all of the pedophiles the church is protecting by moving them to different parishes.
Lots of people are losing interest in the catholic faith. One letdown after another.

Any person would've slapped her hand. She shouldn't have grabbed him like that.

The first instinct of someone with a good heart would not be to hit and scowl at someone. He showed his true colors there!

Is she rude or desperate? He should find out.

Worship your pope with all your strength your heart and your mind. Oh wait... where does it say that in the Bible?

Pope is human after all. I believe it was his magnanimous gesture to apologize. The lady shouldn't have pulled Pope's hands. She might be waiting for sometime, but Pope was leaving after greeting people. In crowded setting, some people get to meet and shake hands with Pope and some don't.

He's human too, not a saint or God.

The woman had no respect for the Holy Pontiff as she just grabbed his hand like a common friend.

Well, why was she grabbing at the Pope like that anyway?

I’m an atheist but I’m appalled at the woman’s behavior. What the hell is wrong with Chinese people anyway.? She freakin yanked him forcefully and wouldn’t let go. Nobody should have to endure that.
All the handshaking he does..he probably has carpel tunnel or other hand pain. You don’t just grab somebody like that. His security people should have intervened. I am so sick of Asian people behaving badly - world wide. It’s terrible. Pope did not need to apologize but it’s magnanimous that he did.

He was not wrong. He reacted to her sudden aggression. You would too. Stop being fake.
Also he's not perfect. We aspire to live a Christ-like life and that's very important, but none of us will ever be God or Christ. Quit making little "gods" of people. There's only One God. So stop beating someone up about their flaws when you ALSO have your own to fix.

He only slapped her hand because she GRABBED and YANKED him. The pope was being humble to apologize because he did nothing wrong. This woman came out of left field...GRABBED and YANKED him. He even gave her a chance to let go by tugging away and she would not let go! He reacted like anyone would to an unexpected and potentially harmful act. Then all he did was slap her hand. That was light work! Most people would've punched and/or cursed her out. Anyone who thinks he was wrong is fake because nobody likes to be grabbed and yanked. Only reason why this is news is because people want to look at him so hard because he's a person of faith and pope. People of faith are expected to never react to rudeness & danger, I guess. 🙄🙄
