One of the tracts that we stock is called "39 Reasons You Should Stop Tithing." Most open-minded folks are convinced after evaluating 4 or 5 reasons. This lesson deals with folks who oppose this truth using verses from Genesis 14.

Good points. It's also interesting how today's version of tithing doesn't even have a biblical precedent, yet it's frequently taught as a biblical mandate.

The church is tax exempt yet they have the audacity to tax all of their parishioners! Talk about greed and arrogance! They are under a 501C curse!

I've heard a few in different churches. First Baptist, money back guarantee. Calvary Chapel, if you're going to play in our praise band, you need to agree to tithe to set the example. At a name it and claim it church, the pastor claimed "someone donated that nice Mercedes-Benz to me", maybe.

while fulfilling his ministry service, Paul supported himself by working as a tentmaker. these arrogant "pastors" today think they should be fully supported by the sheep and the "ministry" and buildings which are expensive monuments to their ego must be financed by the sheep. one day everyone will find out this was never the model given by the Lord for the gospel and the building of His kingdom.

Here are some things I tell people. The act of tithing, giving 10% of things what one has, seems to have existed even before Abraham tithed because some historians state they have found that many pagan people practiced the tithe tax in their different lands on the earth even before Abraham tithed, but that the pre-existing tithe tax was not the same as God's commandment on tithing given in the laws.
Why is it all the Tithing ministers that like to quote some things from the Old Testament never use Hebrews Chapter 7 of the New Testament, it seems that it is simply because it proves they seem to be the ones preaching against what is written in the Bible there ! Who are the ones really preaching heresy ? God's law even in the Old Testament says that only edible things can be given for tithing, not money ! Yes, the Bible says only edible things are acceptable for tithing ! If tithing was done today it would still have to be edible things according to God's old commandments in the Bible, and the ministers would have to cut the throats of animals and spread the blood on the alter and their clothing and burn the fat as incense in churches. No where in the Bible does it say to give money for tithing, to give money for tithing is breaking God's commandments in the Bible, but people do not understand this because they simple listen to tithing preaching and believe what they say about giving money for tithing instead of reading the Bible for themselves, that God commands that money not be given for tithing ! The Bible says that those that follow an old law must follow all the old laws and will remain under a curse, and no one follows all the old law commandments (redeem your property, pay the sin offering, pay money each year according to your age and gender, etc.). I do not understand why do some people think they can give money as a tithe in their mind, and then they will remain under a curse and not want to be under the Grace of Jesus. Give money to support your church of course, but give money as Free Will Offerings as the Bible tells us now, but if you give 10% or 20% or 30%, etc. of your monetary income remember it is not given as a tithe but as Free Will Offerings so don't call it a tithe. There are even Jewish Rabbi videos on YouTube telling people that money was never given for tithing, only edible things have ever been given for tithing. In Hebrews 7 it does say that the law was found to be weak and unprofitable, and that the law was disannulled. Only Levi priests were commanded to receive God's tithe, so ministers today can not receive any tithes. The law with Levi priests that offered up tithing sacrifices daily for themselves and the people was found to be weak and unprofitable as stated in the Bible and the law was disannuled. Additionally, in Hebrews 7 it states that Jesus as the new highest priesthood offered himself up as the sacrifice that he only needed to do once, and he needed not to do daily like the priests needed to. So yes, it definitely does appear that Jesus, (as he said in earlier scripture that he did not come to abolish the law but he came to to fulfill the law), fulfilled the law by offering up himself as the final sacrifice (or the final tithe as you could say) for us. For anyone to attempt to tithe today in my opinion is actually denying the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for us for fulfilling the laws. Remember many ministers preach that Abraham tithed to Melchizedek before the law so therefore you should tithe even without regard to the law of God's Tithing, but they fail to tell people that Abraham tithed from the spoils of war and not from working income. Additionally, they fail to tell about Abraham receiving things in Genesis, Chapter 20, verses 14 and 15, that Abraham received sheep and oxen and men servants and women servants from Abimelich, and also gave Abraham land to dwell on, and Abimelich also gave Abraham a thousand pieces of silver. But there is no mention of Abraham making any tithe regarding all of these items and the money, none ! Again, for anyone to attempt to tithe today in my opinion is actually denying the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for us for the fulfilling the laws.

My pentecostal pastor tells us we’re going to hell for not tithing without giving bible verse. 😮 I’m sure he’s referring to the “robbing God” verse. Pastor said church is a storehouse too. 😲 I’m ready for this pastor we’ve had 2 years now to go if he’s going to preach lies. We’ve been going to church and tithing faithfully since 1987 until few years ago when I came across videos like this that opened my eyes. I always had this nagging feeling about tithes but now I see it was wrong. We’ve been late paying bills because tithes had to be paid first or fear of robbing God and going to hell. We even lost a new car. My sinning, non tithing brother in law took over notes. 😞 I thought God would pour us out a blessing?! Pour out a blessing means rain. Destroy the devourer was pestilence. It was about food grown, never about money.
