Doctor vs. UNHINGED Pregnancy Quiz

Is this quiz about pregnancy really impossible? Can a real-life board-certified ObGyn doctor pass with an 80% or better? Spoiler: With questions like “what is the cord that attaches mother and baby,” I’m pretty confident we could both score better than that. But...it has been quite a while since med school quizzes, so who knows? The internet challenged me and I had no choice but to respond.

Okay using the term pregnant people is the mirror action of calling a tranwoman a person who can get pregnant. It's all based on a psychological condition. In other words hysterical.

No one can get 80% because they quit before getting to the end. That was a really long quiz for the internet!

Now I want to see Mama Doctor Jones try playing a pregnant sim in Sims 4, and see all the stuff that is apparently not possible to do while pregnant

Got told by a GP once that they thought I had a "hysterical pregnancy". I turned round to him and said"how can that be the case when I don't think I'm pregnant?" Turns out I was right and that i was actually having symptoms of having PCOS which I was later diagnosed with.

The "when can you see a babys gender" question was interesting to me. Here in Germany it is illegal to tell the sex of the fetus before week 14 even though it's obviously possible to tell before that. The reason for this law is to try to prevent abortions due to the fetus having the "unwanted" sex. I can't wrap my head around the fact that this law was necessary to introduce but knowing people I'm sadly sure it's a valid concern.

Confession time: When I got pregnant I told my hubby I couldn’t clean the litter box anymore (score!🎉). That was 23 yrs ago and I haven’t cleaned it since. Whoopsie.🤣🤣🤣

The allergy thing is why I’m an only child. My mom’s pregnancy triggered so many latent allergies that she had to go on an elimination diet while pregnant and weighed less the day I was born than when she first got pregnant. By some miracle I was still 7+lbs and full term (thanks Dr Sadie!). My parents decided it wasn’t worth putting her through that again. Gluten turned out to be the main culprit, and remember in 1980 people weren’t as obsessed with it as they are now. It took years for her system to completely reset.

So... if someone is in labour for say 2 days, they're supposed to give birth (a process which famously requires a lot of effort and energy) without having eaten ANYTHING!? I'm definitely with you on this one - maybe don't tuck into a 3 course meal when the baby's crowning, but a few snacks early on actually seem like a good idea.

my daughter just delivered her first child 6 weeks ago and had such TERRIBLE nasal stuffiness through out the whole pregnancy and for a couple of weeks after. she was miserable. thanks for making it understandable as to why.

There is one test that is 100% accurate - asking my pup “who is a good boi?” And him wagging his tail in affirmative. So testing if he’s a good boi is absolutely 100% accurate

You’ve thought about all of this 100x more than the quiz writers 😅

A funny thing I didn't expect to learn from this:
My wife is trans and has been taking estrogen for the past 7 months now. After an increased dose, her nose is always stuffy and she seems to have allergy symptoms. When you got to the question about pregnancy increasing allergy symptoms and started explaining it is an effect of estrogen I ran to show that part of the clip to her.
I love all of your videos so much, even as someone who never plans to become pregnant, because I am always learning so much!

I feel more seen by MDJ than I have by some physicians actually treating me. Thank you for expressing empathy and ally-ship while providing educational content.

If you have a cat and need to change the litter whilst pregnant, you can minimise the risk by using a surgical mask and disposable gloves whilst being your cat's slave.

I took Lamaze. I would have failed the final exam. My ex tried to tell me how to breathe. I’m fairly certain I turned into a demon as I ground out, “Don’t you DARE tell me how to breathe”. I did get a great piece of advice, a couple actually. 1) there’s no trophy for giving birth without pain meds 2) don’t feel like a failure if you have to have a c-section. That is not your fault, it is for your safety and the safety of your child. (I didn’t have one but I wanted to note it.) and 3) after you have the child, when the child goes through a bad day where they scream uncontrollably and you can’t figure out why, it’s ok to put the baby into their crib or a playpen where they are safe and walk away for a few minutes. It helps prevent shaken baby syndrome. I only had to do it once, but it did help.

The trampoline question is one I never considered thinking about, but I'm glad it was mentioned. I teach gymnastics and use a trampoline often at work. I just found out recently that I am about 10 weeks pregnant and will probably stop demonstrating during class now... thank you, Mama Dr. Jones!

As a long time trans viewer, I just want to say I've always appreciated your use of inclusive language in your videos, and in this one in particular you taking the time to clarify that gender and sex are not the same thing. Your consideration towards the trans community is greatly appreciated

I that you said that not eating during labor is an outdated practice! It's time to let the hungry pregnant people eat!! ❤️

I wasn't allowed to eat during my 20 hour labor and it sucked and I was God damn exhausted and starving afterwards. My second birth was too fast for me to be hungry and I was still starving right after. Luckily it was breakfast time at the hospital and they brought me food 😅

In antenatal classes in Australia, we were told we *should* eat during labour, since it might be pretty long and tiring. And I definitely call my baby who wouldn’t wait til we got to the hospital “impulsive” (and “impatient”). :-D
