In Greek, the workd for church is Ekkliseia (Εκκλησία).

It is very clearly about community but just as much about hierarchy. The word Church is derived from Ekklesia 🤣 and the early Church was called “Catholic” by Saint Ignatius, disciple of John the Apostle, in the very first century. He confirms that the Church is where the Bishop is as the Bishops are the successors of the Apostles. Where such is missing, we do not have the Ekklesia Jesus founded (Mt 16, 18), but a man-made institution or club. 🥰📿 a convert from Pentecostalism to the Catholic Church 😅

really? I've never confused church as denomination, if anything I've confused church as the building when it should be cathedral or chapel.

Denominations are ok as long as we are united in the major doctrines we are all brothers and sister, sadly some denominations like the roman catholics have stirred away from the main teachings of Christ and have added man made traditions like the 7 sacraments, masses for the dead ( thinking they can still be saved), papacy, adding the apocrypha to the canon, Transubstantiation, revering icons like the Apostles even putting Mary on a pedestal, etc.

Btw Catholic church means universal church of Christ which includes every believer from every denomination, not to be confused with the ( roman catholics ).

This is nonsense and false. Ecclessia (latin) or ekklesia (greek), is literally church in English.
