Craig tackles a tricky question: Are cheaper devices actually more expensive? Obviously their sticker price says no. But has the landscape of streaming devices changed enough to rethink how we buy devices?

Netflix and the other streamers could send customers back to cables with the price hikes.

My mother always told me to buy quality things because it will last longer. And it does, but it does cost more and that’s ok.

Part 1: Craig, you're the man! I watched your live stream on demand today. There's way too many issues to cover in this comment but I will speak on a couple that stand out. You Sir proved to me you understand ethics. You were again asked is **** worth it. You avoided the question and you removed it from the screen. As everyone knows (or should), one does not promote or choose a company that pays you over another company that you're reviewing. I believe credibility is everything in podcasting and I know you get that. For that alone from what I've seen you get five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Of course that company is number one by a wide margin in streaming live with locals, it just doesn't mean they're the best in particular in sports and reliability and of course we all know about the wars they've had. Enough of that, at least you can pause or cancel your subscription monthly.

We had a blackout during a storm about 2 months ago. Alexa/Echo and Apple Maps haven’t been the same since. Make me wonder if they backup their systems. I’m thinking My Echo needs a hearing device.

Part 2: I truly don't understand this fascination with having the latest baddest 4K device for streaming available. I cut the satellite ($100) some time ago and got the advice to buy a Roku Express. No voice remote but yet when I reset everything a few months ago it gave me Roku 10.5 on the update. That's the latest OS. In comparison I bought a fs before Christmas. I use both and find the fs 4K about the same as the Roku Express. In fact my Roku actually receives data quicker. I'm in a unique situation where I can just tether the devices through my cell phone with unlimited data.

You see, I guess this is my point. No matter what the opinion is for each individual or each household, we're all different. We have a different number of devices we all prefer different services and different programs some have kids some don't some are young people some are old. Isn't that what makes America America since the revolution?
