I dont agree at all. Everything has doubled in owning a home... Homeowners insurance and property taxes, the mortgage rate stays the same if you do a fix rate. The cost of maintenance is thru the roof not to mention deductibles are ridiculous 2% of the value of the home. I am being taxed out of my home. Dont even get me started on groceries. We are screwed no matter what we do

Your mortgage does continue to go up because the cost of insurance and taxes continue to go up so it goes up just like if you were paying rent.
